problem in loading mixed mode DLL from unmanaged code

6 New Member
Hi folks,

I'm trying to load a mixed mode dll from a native c++ application using loadLibrary. If I run the application from the local drive it works without any problem, byt il I run it from the network it crashes at the moment of loading the mixed mode dll with a System.IO.LoadF ileException. I know that the problem comes from the code access security policy and that's not my question :) In fact as I know it's not possible to catch exceptions coming from a managed code in an unmanaged one, therefore my question is: how to catch the exception or at least avoid the crash of my application (if loading not possible then don't load)?

Thank you

I've been trying a mixed mode project but I'm having speed problems. I was using a DLL and linking into it from C#. I thought I'd try and stick the C# functionality and the raw unmanaged code into a mixed mode project. It works but it's incredibly slow. All the optimization settings are the same. All the code which was in the DLL is compiled with the /clr off. Only the bits which were in C# have been re-written in managed C++ (and I've...

I received no answers about this the first time I posted, so I will try again. My inability to decipher an MSDN topic may find others who have the same inability and someone who can decipher and explain it. I have some questions about the instructions for creating a mixed mode DLL in the MSDN topic "Converting Managed Extensions for C++ Projects from Pure Intermediate Language to Mixed Mode" in the "Managed Extensions for C++ Reference"....

Hi, I am writing a performence critical application, this require me to stick to unmanaged C++ as performance is much better using unmanaged C++ ( about 33% better ), Still, I am trying to avoid the usage of old style COM, my alternative is to expose my unmanaged interface through the CLI, to achieve that I have created a mixed mode DLL in which my unmanaged class are defined. When referencing the DLL just described in another mixed mode EXE...

I am stuck in a situation and I do believe that this should work, but it doesn't. I have a unmanaged dll, that uses MFC. This works great. Now I recompile the unmanaged dll so it contains mixed mode managed/unmanaged code, but only use unmanaged code, but this gives a error the moment I want to display a MFC dialog box: Something like unreferenced object,... during runtime.

We have this situation: We have a unmanaged c++ executable located in a certain folder (a.exe) It loads a mixed mode managed/unmanaged dll using MFC dynamically from a completely different path (b.dll) This last dll, uses other pure managed and mixed managed/unmanaged dll's that uses MFC. (c.dll, d.dll,...) What works is a.exe loading b.dll. But once I want to use a functions in c.dll I get an exception indicating that c.dll is not...

I have been desperately trying to solve a problem where I am wrapping an unmanaged dll with managed extensions for c++ and then calling the managed dll functions from C#. However, whenever I call the new operator to create a new instance of the unmanaged class, I get the following error: An unhandled exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in objectblox.epsilon.dll Additional information: Object reference not set to...

Hi everybody, I have a problem with a mixed mode application. It consists of an unmanaged C++ dll, a "mixed mode" dll and various VB.NET dlls using the mixed mode dll to talk to the unmanaged dll. When running on a development machine, everything works just fine. But when deploying on a production machine, there is an error: the mixed mode dll or one of its dependencies can not be found.

Hello, I have a native DLL (written in C) which is supposed to call a managed DLL (was written in C#, and an entry point was injected modifying the ildasm'd code). The exectuable calls the native DLL but the native DLL fails to load the managed DLL. The paper that addresses the 'mixed DLL problem' below does not offer any understandable workaround....

Hi all, i have a managed c++ dll using both managed and unmanaged code and an unmanaged application that calls the unmanaged code of the managed dll. I did follow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814472/en-us but still the application crashs before the first call of the unmanaged code. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
