AutoCorrect & MS Access Tables

Good day all.

I am trying to set up MS Access to replace data in a cell using the
AutoCorrect feature in Access. However, when I import a text file (.csv), it
doesn't replace the cell as I have set up in AutoCorrect. When I manually
type or copy one cell and paste, it works, but not when I import a file.

My question: How can I (or can I) set up a table to automatically replace
the contents
of a cell with what I have in AutoCorrect when importing a text file?

Thank you for your help.

On the subject of Data Warehouses, Data Cubes & OLAP…. I would like to speak frankly about Data Warehouses, Data Cubes and OLAP (on-line analytical processing). Has it dawned on anyone else that these buzz words were created by some geek who decided to take a stab at marketing? Knowing that to the backwoods manager who knows little of technology that new innovative names for old concepts would help to sale their products. I mean...

Could anyone point me in the direction of a document that describes the difference between JET and Access? I can't seem to find anything. Another question i have is i have this application (.net) that writes to a databaase every 10 milliseconds(purely for testing). While it's writing i copy over the access file and it seems fine. Is this really safe? Is jet blocking until it can write? If does it queue up data. man it's hot in here...

Hello, I have a problem that I was hoping to get some assistance with. I have built a split database (back end with all the tables and a password to protect the information & a front end to link to it). I have followed the Access Security model to create security over my Front End database (create a new workgroup, remove the admin user from the admins group, change permissions on the users group to very limited access etc).

Hello, I am converting an Access database on our network to a sql 2000 backend and keeping access as the front end. The access database has evolved and been a solution to collect data but now we want to move the tables over to sql 2000. We have successfully done that but are now having difficulties with an ODBC connection. Initiall linking the tables is not an issue and I am able to connect with no problem. However after closing down...

Just got my copy of Access 2003. Is the 'Name Autocorrect' feature in Access 2003 fixed yet, or is it still 'Name Autocorrupt', as many in this newsgroup reported in the past. I would like to finally clean up poor field names I put in my application in 1994 (when I was young and foolish). For example, I used "Date" as a name in eight different tables. I need to fix this. The "Autocorrect" feature sounds like it is designed to make global...

I need to convert a 17mb access 2000 db to Oracle and house it in a Citrix farm. The issue: we have never converted an Access Db to Oracle but can probably use Oracle's Workbench to assist with this. Also - the citrix folks do not want us to keep the FE in Access as the queries and other activities consume a lot of power. The users will be in 3 different offices across the globe all accessing the 1 Oracle DB in Citrix. Does anyone have...

Hey, do you guys know how to set the Name Autocorrect to unchecked by default. Name Autocorrect is more trouble than its worth. I know I can go to Tools/General, but, I'd rather have it unchecked by default when I create a blank database. Thanks.

I need to get the list of Autocorrect entries in word. Is there a way to do it without connecting to Word? Is the list saved somewhere? If I need to connect to Word, how can I detect if it's installed on the user machine? Thanks. Andrea

Hi all, I am comming along with all this Linus/DB2/scripting business...I am no longer scared of it!! (LOL). But, I need to create a .ksh script that does a REORGCHK and output only tables recommended for reorg. My goal is to reorgchk and run reorgs based on entries in this reorg file as shown in the example below. I have tried my hand at the following failing script and hope that gurus here can throw me a lifeline of examples on how to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
