Hello all,
I am hoping this is the appropriate newsgroup for a C++ interface
design question. I am trying to design an interface for a subscriber
to register/deregister handlers for various events. The callbacks
specified by the subscriber will be called when the events get
trigerred in a different thread. Each event has different kinds of
data associated with it. To achieve this I have the following:

Why interface-event-declaration does not support multiple declarators like
event-declaration?
Grammar from C# spec:
variable-declarators:

Howdy all,
How can a (user-defined) class ensure that its instances are
immutable, like an int or a tuple, without inheriting from those
types?
What caveats should be observed in making immutable instances?

Hi,
I'm creating a library where several classes are intertwined rather tightly.
I'm thinking of making them all use pimpls, so that these circular
dependancies can be avoided easily, and I'm thinking of making all these pimpl
class declarations public. Reasoning is that since only the code within the
..cc file will need to ever access them, why protect them in ways that would
make access to them more difficult and obfuscated?
What...

I need to create interface "on-the-fly" so it "reflects" some class (mainly it's properties). Here's how I do this:
public class Transformer
{
private const TypeAttributes INTERFACE_TYPE_ATTRIBUTES =
TypeAttributes.Public |
TypeAttributes.Interface |
TypeAttributes.Abstract |
TypeAttributes.AutoClass |

I added a property to an interface like this:
<code>
public interface ISimpleAddress
{
string CarrierFax{ get; set; }
}

Hi,
I'm working within an application (making a lot of wrappers), but the
application is not case sensitive. For example, Typing obj.name,
obj.Name, or even object.naMe is all fine (as far as the app is
concerned). The problem is, If someone makes a typo, they may get an
unexpected error due accidentally calling the original attribute
instead of the wrapped version. Does anyone have a simple solution for
this?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
