Hi,
When you double click on a form in the Solution Explorer, it will show that
form in the Designe Mode. Is there a way to change this, so it will switcvh
to the 'Code Mode'?
Is this possible or not?
thanks a lot!

At this moment I use MsAccess and i can build about every databound
application i want. Who knows about a serious open source alternative?
Because Windows will be a client platform for some time, i prefer a
solution that (also) supports Windows.
On the net I found a number of products that i looked at, but none of
them gave me the impression of a serious candidate at this moment
(KNoda, Gnome DB Manager, InterBase...).

Many (if not most) have said that code-behind is best if working in teams -
which does seem logical.
How do you deal with the flow of the work?
I have someone who is good at designing, but know nothing about ASP. He can
build the design of the pages in HTML with tables, labels, textboxes etc.
But then I would need to change them to ASP.net objects and write the code
to make the page work (normally I do this as I go - can't do this...

As an old programmer just now looking at VB.net I have a question:
How does one simply open one form from another ? I don't mean how does one
create a new instance of that form , but rather how to refer to THAT form ?
And having done this, how does one get data to and from that form ?
I have read the MS tutorial on this but it is senselessly complex; there
must be a simple, straightforward method, or I can only assume that MS has...

Is it possible to simply add an .RDL to an asp.net project, and access the
report dynamically without any report url or anything.
I just want to pass the database authentication to the .RDL
and a few parameters, and run the report. But I do not want the report to
exist in a subweb or http://reportServer etc. I just want to drop it right
into my project, and go.
Thanks for any links or advice.

Hello All,
I'd like your comments on the code below. The sub does exactly what I want it to do but I don't feel that it is solid as all. It seems like I'm
using some VB6 code, .Net2003 code, and .Net2005 code. I'm developing in vb.net 2005.
This test sub just reads an input text file, writing out records to another text file, eliminating records that have a '99' in them (it is similar to
a CSV file).
Some of my concerns are:

Here is my situation:
I have an aspx file stored in a resource file. All of the C# code is
written inline via <script runat="server"tags. Let's call this page
B. I also have page A that contains some javascript code that calls
window.open. I pass the resource url of page B to Page A's window.open
call. Page B is then loaded and executed but none of the server-side
code is rendered. If I view the source of the page, the code (and page...

I am an ASP.NET developer, and Visual Studio 2005 seems to have stopped
declaring the controls that I add in the *.designer.vb files, therefore
forcing me to manually add them before I can use them in code that I write
in the *.aspx.vb and *.ascx.vb files. Why is it no longer automatically
declaring the controls? Is there a way to manually force Visual Studio 2005
to regenerate these files? Is there a setting somewhere that could have...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
