Hi folks,
I have a small VB app and I've created a deployment project for it. At the
end of installation I would like the user to get a prompt like "Run your new
program now? yes/no" -- or text/buttons to that effect. I would then like
the program to launch after installation is complete.
I have a few questions about this. Any help would be appreciated:
1. In the User Interface Editor, I added a RadioButtons dialog to the End

Dear reader,
In an attempt to obtain the path to the quick-launch-folder in order to
create a shortcut to my application-updates during installation , I thought
to:
1- check if quick launch is used by the user
2- check if a link to my application is there
3- if so, obtain the path (ANY PATH) to the quick-launch-folder from
existing button(s)

I created a CustomAction for this but I don't think I have it in the right
place. I tried both Install and Commit but neither allow it to get to the
final screen.
Are there any examples of this anywhere?
Thanks,
Joe

Our .Net installation project includes a custom action that is launched post
install. When the msi is run from a desktop, all is fine. We tested an
install doing an Active Directory push to client machines and it failed.
The application installed but the custom action would not launch and the
install hung. The only error message we could find in the Event Viewer was
'Fatal Error', nothing else. A customer of ours was able to...

The quick launch tool bar doesn't load on startup in my user account. It
works fine by clicking on the Task bar and selecting Quick Launch, but it
doesn't seem to save the setting when I shut down the computer. I have two
other user accounts on the same computer and they work fine and launch on
startup. Any ideas why this is happening? This occured after I installed and
ran PC Tools Spyware Doctor but I can't see any reference to it in...

Does anyone know how to prevent the First Steps Launch Pad screen from
appearing after pushing out a remote installation of a Fix Pack?
When DB2 PE is initially installed on our desktops it is installed so
that the First Steps Launch Pad comes up after the installation, but
since these are manually installed it isn't a big deal.
Now we have to push out a fix pack to 400 desktops and apparently
since the original installation was...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
