Greetings. I have a ASP.NET C# application that I'm working on to deploy websites and databases. I have been able to update DNS A records using System.Manageme nt and now I need to create a new IIS site and database from the same script then install a ASP.NET app under the new site. All from a web interface. Just wondering if there is a tool or example in script for doing this. Thanks!

I have seen many posts of people with the same problem as me (attached below), but I have yet to see any solutions posted. Has anyone figured out how to deploy an Asp.net web site to the webserver in any place other than the default website? I do not want to install it there as our IIS has multiple websites, but nowhere is there an option when creating the install package in Visual Studio to specify what website on the server you want to...

I'm so fustrated! While my prefered approach is still to call a C DLL from C# Web Service, I thought I would tran another approach while waiting for a response. I created a C++ service using Visual Studio 2003. I then hit CTRL-F5 and verified the HelloWorld worked. I then looked all over Visual Studio 2003 and could not figure out how to deploy the beast. The C# Studio has the copy project menu entry: not so for C++! Why not? So I...

Hello I came across a php script on the net that will compare a web surfers IP address to those in a text file. If a match or partial match is found, the user is banned from accessing the php script, but if no match is found, the php script executes. The original script is as follows: line 1 <?php

Hi, I create my Webservice in 2003 VS and test in Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro without any problem. When I deploy it over Windows 2003 server, It fails to connect to the WS. I got Anonymous access check, and integerated Windows authentication check. My client, WinCE 4.2 device, still cannot access the web service. I got a WebException return to WinCE. The same setting is always work in Windows 2000/XP Pro.

I am construvcting a number of databases, some of which contain sensitive data and most of which do not. I am attempting to handle the security issues involved in protecting sensitive data in part by putting it in its own database. If the sensitive data is in a database called d_SensitiveData, and in that database there is a table called 't_A' (I know, not very informative, but this is only a trivially simple example :-), and I have a...

I am a novice Perl programmer and need to change a perl script that I use to create web pages with thumbnail images and some text. Currently the script created a web page for each artist / category with all the thumb images below one another in the table. Thus the table has one column with a row for each image. I am trying to change the script to have 3 columns in the table in the end (first testing with second column as in the attached...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
