images from imagelist don't display in the treeview/listview controls

1 New Member
I'm currently building a GUI in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.

I have put together an Explorer style control as explained in the walkthrough in the Visual Studio 2005 help. I got it working, and it did display a folder or document icon from the ImageList next to each item in the treeview and listview controls. And then I made some changes to other parts of the project - and the icons disappeared for good!

I can rebuild my 'explorer' in a separate project, but as soon as I try to integrate it into the original project, the icons don't display any more.

Any clues???

I want to have a TreeView that shows an image on some items, but not all. Basically, if a certain condition is true, a caution icon is placed next to the treeview item. The problem is that, by adding a ImageList to the TreeView, the ImageIndex property of the items in the TreeView defaults to 0. I could put a blank icon in the ImageList and make it the 0 index image, however, this makes an ugly space. Would I have to create my own...

Hi, I have a problem for use of imagelist. The problem is I have written a code which returns me the icons associated with the files depending on their type. After getting the icon for the file I am adding the icon to the imagelist and then use its position to display the icon in the listview.

Hi, We are working on a vb.net WinForms project based on the Composite UI Application Block (VS2005). I have a strange problem. At first, I thought 10 minutes would be fairly enough for me to solve it but I've spent almost 6 hours on it today and still can't figure out what's wrong. Using the CAB, I have built a control that intercepts messages coming from other CAB's SmartParts controls and display them into a treeview control. The...

Hi. I'm having a problem with listview controls. I'm using a control that adds drag and drop functionality to a listview (I get the control from codeproject). Now I'm having problems when dragging items that have images. I first thougth that an item has its image and I could drag the complete object, but I see that in the second listview the image doesn't appear. It appears again if I move it again to the first listview.

Hi All, I have an array of 16x16 bitmaps (60 total). I've tried adding the array to the ImageList with the Add method, but the TreeView paints as if no BMP is present. The problem is the method does not 'break out' the bitmaps. If I specify Index 0, I get an unexpected result (horizontal compressing of the file).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
