How detect who access what folder ?

1 New Member
Hi,

I need to register/log 'who' (usercredential ) access 'what'(folderna me) in a Windows 2003 server

- FileSystemWatch er doesn´t gives information about user. if someone knows how to obtain this information, please tell me....

- I´thinking about enabling auditing object acces policy, set auditing security for a folder and develo a app. to read security event log every 5 min. to get event 560, for who access what....but I would prefer not work with event log.

so, someone know if I can do it (who+what)with:
1- NTFS Change Journal
2- ETW - Event Tracing Windows
3- FindFirstChange Notification / FindNextChangeN otification - API

Well, thanks in advanced

I am trying to auto-detect what folder a file is sitting in and based upon this info, query a MySQL database to get further information. I have been all over php.net and been through numerous examples, but I can't get my script to do exactly what I want... An example given on php.net regarding dirname() is as follows: dirname can be used to create self referencing web scripts with the following one liner.

Hi! I have problems with the following scenario: My application is developed using C# under .NET. It must run on all Windows versions starting from Windows 98. I can send email using C# and SMTP, but keep closing the connection before the .eml file has left the Queue folder. The length of time the .eml file stays in the Queue folder is dependent on the size of that file; big or many attachments increases the time. If I start an internet connection, issue the smtp mail send and then close the connection in my C# program, I need to wait until the .eml file has left the Queue folder. Otherwise,...

This is a C# console app using SMTP to send an email. The .EML file stays in the Queue folder because I close down the Internet Connection prematurely. What's the best way to keep the Internet Connection live until the IIS server is done sending the email, as evidenced by the .EML file leaving the Queue folder. I can send email using C# and SMTP, but keep closing the connection before

I wrote an app that alerts a user who attempts to open a file that the file is currently in use. It works fine except when the file is opened by Notepad. If a text file is opened, most computers are configured to use Notepad to open the file by default and if they are configured to use Notepad by default I want it to remain that way rather than retrieve the text into my app or force the user to use another app to read the file. I'm...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
