ASp.net page caching problem

24 New Member
after a user makes
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
  2.   Response.Redirect('login.aspx');
it is redirected to the login page.
But if in the browser it pushes the Back button the last visited page is shown.
i added this in the Global.asax file in the BeginRequest:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(-1));
  2.  HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);
and even tried adding custom HTTPHeaders in IIS: pragma:no-cache; cache-control:no-cache; expires:-1;
and i must say that this is working in Internet Explorer( when user presses Back button it is redirected to the login page), but not working in Opera and Firefox.
How to handle this situation??

Hi, I have a website which is made up of dynamic pages. Each page that's loaded has some code which looks at which template to load amongst other things, which causes the page to take a little while to be processed. At the moment I have programmatic page caching in the "loader" using paramater caching to send a cached version of every requested page back to the user. How can I get particular elements inside each page to cache without...

Hi All, I'm having a problem with Page Output caching on a page that contains a DataGrid. Basically the page pulls up some data for sales information from the DB. Some of this has to be calculated on the fly when the request is made, and so I thought it would be ideal to cache the page for a set amount of time. I've placed the following at the top of my page: <%@ OutputCache Duration="160" VaryByParam="None" %> Now the problem is...

I have a products catalogue that I'm putting online and there will be between 20 to 50 different pages of products. Each page contains a datagrid of products for a given category. However, the categories change from time to time so the list of categories must be dynamic and database driven (as is the menu used to select the category to load in the products page). The way I see it there's 2 possible options. dynamically create each aspx...

My default page stays constant in the site and all the content in the body of the page is produced with user controls in a table cell for the body section. The main function of this site is a products catalogue and the products show in a datagrid in one of the user controls. This datagrid has many rows and columns of images and this is what I'm most interested in caching. If I put <%@ OutputCache Duration="500" VaryByParam="MenuID"...

Hi! I have the following problem. From my main page, when someone clicks a button, it uses client side javascript to open another .aspx page. This page displays content, based on what the first page is set to show. If you change the first page, and click the button again, the newly opened page will show other things. Nothing special. It also works fine, except ...

I am impressed by the caching performance of .NET. However, there is one major obstacle that I haven't managed to solve yet. What I want to do is the following: I have a normal site, and a preview site. The normal site should have maximum performance, thus uses caching. The preview site is for internal use only, and should not use caching, since our content managers will want to see the updates directly. The only difference between the...

Hi, (ASP.Net 1.1) is it possible to (programmatically and globally) deactivate page fragment caching? We have only two scenarios, development stage where we want caching off and testing where we want caching on. Is this doable? I think there is a config switch in 2.0, anything in 1.1? TIA for any hint,

Hello, I am having a problem with caching, or at least I think it is with caching. I have a simple <%= "text " + DateTime.Now.ToString() %> in one of my aspx files (that is included thru the <!-- #include file="..." --> tags ). So when I change "text" into something else and hit refresh, it still shows the word "text". The time actually changes with every hit of refresh. I have caching (on client computer) turned of through the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
