Cannot launch webservice in debug from Visual Studio

I'm trying to launch a webservice in Debug from visual studio .net
2003. When I do that I get an error: "Cannot start debugging on the
webserver".
This happens on old and new projects, both using Visual Studio 2003
and 2005.

I think that ASP.NET is correctly configured as the application works
correctly if I launch it directly form internet explorer.

Thanks.

I got the impression that the problem depended on some software I
installed that messed things up with IIS.

I found that the fastest solution was restoring a backup image. Thanks
for your help.

Hi, I have three enviroments; a development, a testing and a production enviroment. I'm making a big application (.exe), which uses alot of different webservices. I don't use the webservices by adding a WebReference, since it does not allow me to keep state (cookiecontainer) or to specify functions on the classes (like if i want to override the ToString() function on a class from my webservice). So the only way i can see how i can get...

I seem to only be able to use a webservice after I compile a project and run the executable code. When I try to run the code in Visual Studio 2003 in debug mode it always hangs on the "this.Invoke" line of the webservice wrapper and gives me a timeout error. I know it's not a problem with the code since it runs fine in the EXE. I started having this problem on the same machine 2 weeks ago. To my knowledge I didn't change anything in...

Folks, I have to design the WSDL files of a bunch of XML Web Services. But, unfortunately, I am not very keen on writing the WSDL file line by line, and moreover be aware of the whole standard specification in details. I will be very happy if there is a visual tool, which can do this for me. Does anyone know such kind of tool (if it is free, this is going to be awesome)? Thanks in advance. Regards,

I am embedding Python in a MSVC++ (2005) application. The application creates some environment and then launches a Python script that will call some functions exported from the MSVC++ application. I want to be able to debug the Python script by using a debug server, like Winpdb (winpdb.org). I use ActivePython 2.5.2.2, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, and Winpdb 1.3.8.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
