Properties for dynamicly created controls within a user control

2 New Member
Hi!

I've created a UI control that adds(Creates) or subtracts(Destr oys) standard buttons on a panel. I want to have each of these created buttons become accessible as UI elements, just as the custom control itself is, so that if the control has been defined by property to have 2 buttons, then the buttons themselves have standard properties accessible to the user of the control, so things like color, etc... as well as events can be tied specifically to each of these dynaimcally created child controls. Any suggestions?

This is much like a Tabbed Dialog control, where when you add a tab, all the properties and methods available are there for each tab you add.

I guess what I was asking about wasn't clear. When you use a standard MS "Tab Control", the moment you drop it onto your form, it creates the tab control, and 2 tab pages. Both the control, and the two tab pages are created as independant, addressable objects in the UI, and in code... the "Tabs" property of the "Tab Control" displays "(Collectio n") as the property value, with the elipsis (...) button, and opens a dialog that lets you set the properties of each of the tab pages, as well as add and remove them.

That's what I want to accomplish with my control. It's a panel, that has a variable number of buttons, which should each be addressable. SO I have a property called "Buttons" which I want to show (Collection) as the value, and then open the dialog allowing add/remove/edit of each button.

Hi! I add some web user controls dynamicly with: myPanel.Controls.Add(Page.LoadControl("MyDynamiclyAddedPage.ascx")); the style of the controls on the user control is set from a css-class, by setting the CssClass-property, but they doesn't display properly. If the user control is added at design time everything looks correct.

Hi, I have some properties that are common to all pages so I have created a base class which every page inherits from. I now also want to use these properties within User Controls on the page. Is there any way to get to these properties through the parent property of the user control - I can't seem to figure out how to get there. If I can't do this, do I have to do the same thing as the page and create a base user control class with the...

Hi I have a aspx-page with a panel-control. On this panel control I add user controls dynamicly with LoadControl and panel.Controls.Add(myControl). On some of the dynamicly added user controls I have button's and handlers for the click event. Why doesn't the event get fired in the dynamicly added control? Thanks!

I have made some user controls with custom properties. I can set those properties on instances of my user controls, and I have programmed my user control to do useful visual things in response to how those properties are set. I want to be able to do two other things: a) add User control instances to my page, filling in the place of placeholder controls, and b) programmatically setting custom properties on those dynamically spawned...

Hello, I currently fight with a problem during the derivative of WinForm controls. In Visual Studio I created a new User Control. This control is derived from the DataGridView of the System.Windows.Forms namespace. I want to use this control as a template for futher controls. Within this control i want to set some property values to be pre-defined for further derived controls. My base class looks like this:

Hello, I set up a web page with 2 user controls. In classic asp, the first one did all the declarations, and the second one used the values, and could reset it. In ASP.Net so far I can't see how to relate them so this will work. This user control defines the properties:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
