Is it more appropriate to use os.popen or os.system on a windows XP
client? I'm calling the operting system's shutdown function like this:
restart = os.popen(shutdown -r -f)
print restart.read()
restart.close()
If it matters, I'm doing this remotely over sockets.

I an having issuses with a loop I am running to keep checking for
messages coming across our line.
The goal:
Listen for messages on port 5001 and print the messages into a text
file. The port must stay open at all times and only close if no
activity for 60 seconds.

I modified the logmonitor sdk example so it would work over a network. It
works great when the client and server are running on the same PC and have
administrator privileges. So I have two problems:
1) I cannot run the client without administrator privileges. If I try I get

Hi all,
I'm trying to develop a server that listens to incoming calls using
the asycnhronous methods BeginAccept / EndAccept. I start the server
(till this point it is ok) and few seconds later I stop it (with no
clients connected). Once I press the stop button an
ObjectDisposedException is fired. What is the reason for this? Is it
because the thread is still running even after I closed the server

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
