I'm investigating a bug a customer has reported in our database
abstraction layer, and it's making me very unhappy.
Brief summary:
I have a database abstraction layer which is intended to mediate
between webapps and arbitrary database backends using JDBC. I am very
unwilling indeed to write special-case code for particular
databases. Our code has worked satisfactorily with many databases,
including many instances MS SQLServer 2000...

Hi,
Everything went fine getting a short date format out of SQL into my
DataGrid with this:
<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Created", "{0:d}")%>
Then I got too fancy in SQL and started doing a RTRIM(date) when I was
retrieving the data. That screwed the pooch big time. Suddenly I lost

User can changes his/her local date setting, i.e., "M/d/yyyy", "dd/MMM/yyyy", .... etc. which interprets the date (string type) in the different way. for example "02/05/2004" can be the second of May or the fifth of Februry. So, it's neccessary to get the local date setting before display this date.
Any body knows
1. How to get the user's local date format o
2. How to enforce to use a standard date format for display the dat

I have 2 gridviews on a page, each with own SQL Datasource pointing to
different tables on same database.
In the 1st date format is "dd/MM/yyyy"
Other 1
"MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss"
In the SQL database both fields are data type DateTime.
I want both to be in format "dd/MM/yyyy"
Why is the display different, and how can I get them the same?

Hi,
I have two columns defined as DateTime type in the Visual Designer,
i.e., Dataset.xsd.
In the grid to which the columns are bound, they're both displayed as
date, for instance, 5/23/2007. It seems that they're using the default
"short date" format.
I want to use the "long date" format to display the actual hour/minute/

Hi,
I have a column in a grid defined as DateTime type.
Currently, it's displayed in the format of "5/23/2007", for an
example. It seems that it's using the default "short date" format.
I want to use the format of, for an example, "5/23/2007 12:35:58 PM",
to include hour/minute/second. Anyone can advise me on how to change
the format?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
