"Invalid operation. Connection closed"

1 New Member
Hallo,

I have a site developed on ASP.NET 2.0. It stay on my notebook and it works with a ORACLE database (ver. 9.0). It's all right!!

Then I reached my definite site version on IIS 6.0 in other server (with S.O. Windows 2003).

The server has the framework 2.0 .NET and the oracle client.

Now when I try to connect on the same database I get error: "Invalid operation. Connection Closed".

I don't know how solve this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If anyone can help me on this problem it would be greatly appreciated
Thank You
Stefano

The following ASP code yields the following error, but actually the new record is stored in database. The same error happens when the application deletes a record, such as sqlStmt ="delete from test where username='2323'" Any ideas? Thanks! <% Dim objRS, sqlStmt Set objRS = Server.CreateObject ("ADODB.Recordset") sqlStmt = "insert into test VALUES ('2341', '2341');"

We have implemented unhandled error trapping at the application level and log these errors to our database. One error, however, the does not get trapped is when the connection pool has exceeded the max number of connections. Obviously, we need to find the place(s) in our code where connections are not closed correctly (espcially in loops), but I'm wondering if it's possible to trap this error and to find out which part of our code (i.e....

I have a web site (www.on-the-matrix.com) that displays photos in a "slide show" format on ASPX pages that run in an inline frame on an ASP page (or in a separate pop-up window). The ASPX pages use a hidden form to transmit information back to the server so it will know which is the next photo to load. All of this works as intended in modern versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape and Mozilla. With Opera, however, users receive a...

I have an asp.net page that stopped running properly giving the error below. The app uses a SQL Server 2000 on another server. Enterprise Manager and Query analyzer on the web server can connect to that sql server just fine and run queries. I rebooted the web server and made aspnet member of the admin group. I don't know why the error mentions open connections if I can open several query anaylzer windows using the same sql server...

Hi!, I'm using WebRequest to post a URL. But, sometimes, this tell me the error "The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server.". I don't know why!!. This worked perfect in .NET 1.1, but in .NET 2.0, I has this behavior. Thanks!

I don't get the message so it's hard to debug that, but some of my clients report that they get "The underlying connection was closed unexpectedly" exception. According to this site (http:// www.dotnetspider.com/resources/2596-e-underlying-connection-was-closed-A-connection.aspx), it's a bug of .NET 2.0, and the author suggests that we use KeepAlive=false until Microsoft fixes it. It seems like almost 5 years have passes since the...

0I have a windows service I created that checks for data to post to an off site webservice over SSL. The service checks every 10 seconds for data to send, if there is data it opens a connection to the remote webservice, and closes the connection after 120 seconds (still checking for data to send during this time). The service works fine if a user is RDP'd into the server, but as soon as no one is logged on and the service attempts to push...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
