Hello
I develop an application which must call a WebService on a server (develop
with ASP.NET framework)
If I call this application from XP client station, no problem occurs
BUT if i call the same application on Windows 98, sometime everything work
fine, sometime, I have a timeout exception (after 2 or 3 minutes !)

I'm having a really confusing problem concerning a web service. Right
now, I have an application that needs to call a web service that does
nothing but return "true" (this will obviously change once the
program's fully built to actually do something, but for testing, it

I am using VS.Net 2002 with windows 2000 advanced server and windows 2000
professional. I have a requirement to use windows service with a GUI.
I want to show my own User Interface(Dialog) to get user input, before
windows login screen. For that I have created a windows service, in the
onstart event of this service, I am calling a vb.net exe, which has windows
form. But it throws error bcoz of the form. I even tried by calling a vb.net...

Howdy,
I wrote a web service in .Net for my customer. My customer has another
vendor who now has to consume it but they are not using Visual Studio. Most
of their pages are jsp, and they said they need to consume this web service
using HTTP. The developer's IDE is Notepad. Yeah, weird I know.
How is this done? I guess if I can get it to run ASP, IDE independant, that
should make them happy. Any references you can point me to?

Hello,
I am trying to learn about web services. I was able to get a working
VS 2005 web service and VS 2005 web service consumer application to
communicate. The service would return the passed in string parameter
and "Hello World", thus printing "myteststring Hello Word"
When I tried to use a Delphi 2006 win32 web service consumer for the
same service, the parameters were lost and it just returned "Hello
