Hey all - I'm having a really confusing problem concerning a web service. Right now, I have an application that needs to call a web service that does nothing but return "true" (this will obviously change once the program's fully built to actually do something, but for testing, it works). The only code I added to the service is below:

Howdy, I wrote a web service in .Net for my customer. My customer has another vendor who now has to consume it but they are not using Visual Studio. Most of their pages are jsp, and they said they need to consume this web service using HTTP. The developer's IDE is Notepad. Yeah, weird I know. How is this done? I guess if I can get it to run ASP, IDE independant, that should make them happy. Any references you can point me to?

Hello, I am trying to learn about web services. I was able to get a working VS 2005 web service and VS 2005 web service consumer application to communicate. The service would return the passed in string parameter and "Hello World", thus printing "myteststring Hello Word" When I tried to use a Delphi 2006 win32 web service consumer for the same service, the parameters were lost and it just returned "Hello World". I first thought...

Hey guys, I've written a fairly simple Windows C# Application using Visual Studio 2005. I have to manually run it, but I would prefer to have it run on it's own, as if it was a Windows NT Service. I am a Delphi convert (still use it for some jobs). When developing in Delphi, I would write a console application that would basically run on it's own. In order for me to register it as a Windows NT Service, I seem to recall that I would do...

Dear List, We have a large application written in Delphi. I am writing a mobile app written in .NET (C#) which reads and writes into the Delphi applications Oracle database via a .NET Web Service. Much of the data centred functionality on the application is quite involved, and to re-write all this functionality in the .NET web service would be very time consuming. Our idea is to perhaps develop a DLL written in Delphi, which copies...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
