Comparing an Excel upload file with a database

8 New Member
Here are the requirements for the project. I have also included the other project that I am working on and is also giving me some problems. i need code examples.

Project 1

This program actually has 4 parts that I have to do.

There is a master database and an excel file that has to be downloaded from the server once a week

1.design a piece of code that will make this program run or download the file from the server once a week, let’s say Friday at nine in the evening(schedul er). And perform actions 2 to 4.

2. compare the records in the database with the once in the file download. If an employee exists in the download but not the database, add that employee to the database.

3.if an employee exists in the database but not the download file, flag the employee as not existent, meaning the employee is no longer in service.

4.if a field from the download file has changed, e.g the marital status of an employee changes, make the changes in the database.

Project 2

This project uses a text file and 2 databases. These files are in the bin folder of the project.

A log-in screen for all the users, if the user is not a master and the entered info is the same as the one in the Passwords table, redirect the user to the users form with is a GUI where the user enters/select 4 things:

1. Select the mine code from a drop-down list

2. Select the payroll code from a drop-down list

3. Enter the start date

4.Enter the end date

A text file has to be created on the hard drive and filtered according to the input from the screen.

For an Example:

Mine/Shaft = BE
Payroll = HA
From Date = 0202(mm/dd)
To Date = 0208(mm/dd)

This new file should only contain records with a mine code of BE, payroll code HA. The range of the date is between 0202 and 0208

Please help me, I really need help

Hi all, I developed an web page in ASP.NET to upload file into the server. In the Web.config file, I declared <httpRuntime executionTimeout="1200" maxRequestLength="400000" /> The MAX length is 129M or more for each file upload. I have 2 files upload at the same time. Therefore, I set the timeout is 20min and the size of file upload is 390MB (400,000 KBytes).

Hi all, We have an old web application written in java and we want to convert this application to .net. this app stores straight html content forms in our database. These forms then get loaded based on each customer id in the request. The problem I'm facing right now is that, when a form has an "user upload" file option, I don't find a way in .Net to save the "user upload" file on our server from these html form without rebuilding...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
