use vb to update linked excel file within powerpoint pres. and supress excel update ?

27 New Member
I’m using a vb.net app that opens a powerpoint presentation and calls the updatelinks function of powerpoint.

One slide in the presentation is linked to a cell range in an excel file, and the excel file has links to other excel files within it. When my program reaches this slide, it opens the powerpoint slide, then opens the excel file, then it prompts the user to select whether or not they want to update the links within excel. Unfortunately, I’m trying to suppress this question from being asked so that it proceeds in an automated fashion.

Is there a way to recognize that a question window has been posed and automatically select a certain answer using vb?

I had previously posted this in an Access forum with negative results so will try here. Although this question specifies an Access database, I also wish to accomplish this with a large MS SQL Server database that we have. Question follows: The following SQL statement, used in VBScript,

Hi, Does anyone know how to export charts/graphs from EXCEl into Powerpoint-Microsoft Charts though VBA code. I would like to import the underlying data with the chart as well. I know we can paste as an Excel object in power point which links the Excel file to the power point, but this increases the file size. Microsoft Power point has a feature called Microsoft charts that allows to create charts and graphs in

Background : My app uses a WebBrowser control to display to the user the contents of an Excel spreadsheet.:

Hi Experts, Looking for a very quick bit on of advice on how to make some python code run. I'm a newbie to both VBA and Python, so i apologise if this is very easy but i'm about to tear my hair out after googling for the last 3 days. I have written a large python script which inside of it creates an Excel table, the name of this file and how many objects can change for each project i run.

i have a powerpoint presentation that uses links to other files and are put on the slide using OLE. The problem is that I have different users updating the information on the slides, which is not being reflected on the main slide. At any rate, I'd like to write an external VB app that can be scheduled to run, update the links within the program, resave the powerpoint pres, and then reopen it on the computer. I'm a little fuzzy on the...

Hi, I'm trying to use VBA to extract underlying data from charts in powerpoint to excel, i.e from the underlying powerpoint datasheet that feeds the chart. I've found the macro below on the net. It copies the data in each chart/datasheet and slide in powerpoint but I'm struggling with the bit to get the data into excel. Below it I've tried incoporating some code to paste into excel but it does not seem to work. Hope someone can...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
