DataGridView Loop Issue

63 New Member
Hi all,

I have used the below to display the cell content of the datagridview cell the user clicked on.

However, the MessageBox is displayed twice.

Why is this?

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2. private void dataGridView1_CellClick(object sender, DataGridViewCellEventArgs e)
  3. {
  4.   DataGridView dgv = sender as DataGridView;
  5.
  6.   if ((e.RowIndex != -1) && (e.ColumnIndex != -1))
  7.   {
  8.       if (e.ColumnIndex == 10) // 11th column
  9.       {
  10.           DataRow dr = ((DataRowView)dgv.Rows[e.RowIndex].DataBoundItem).Row;
  11.           int myCorpID = (int)dr[dgv.Columns[e.ColumnIndex].DataPropertyName];
  12.           MessageBox.Show("test"+myCorpID.ToString());
  13.        }
  14.
  15.    }
  16. }

But if one of the properites exposes another object I would like to bind a property of the sub object to the DataPropertyName this does not seem to work. eg main object customer has a property called Address which is a contained object inside object Address there...

Hello, I am populating a datagridview from a datatable and filtering the number of rows with a dataview object. Is there a way to retrieve the rows displayed by the datagridview into a separate datatable without having to loop through each column in the datagridview? Or is there a way to retrieve the rows from the original datatable filtered by the dataview into a separate table? I only want to copy the rows from the main table that...

Hi, I have a problem with the datagridview not refreshed when the application first appear on the screen. The datagridview display data from a table in the dataset. At the same time, I've added checkbox columns that are not bounded the table. This datagridview is located in the tab (2nd). I thought I mention that since that might be part of the problem (?). When the applications start, it will need some parameter criteria selection...

Hello. My goal is to pain the entire row fore color as Red. If the value of column 24 is true (boolean), I wish to paint the row as Red. Otherwise, leave row as default (no formatting). The Datagridview datasource is a datatable. Currently my issue is that all records are painted red on the Cell_Formatting event. But not all records meet the filter condition. Any ideas why? Here is code snippet private void...

On a form - I have a datagridview which is docked to the entire form. The datagridview allows users to Delete and/or Add Rows. On the Form_Load event I Fill the datagridview source table with a sql DataAdapter (da) da.SelectCommand.CommandText = "Select * from Servertbl1" da.Fill(ds, "tbl1") so far, so good. If I add a row to the datagridview I use the following sqlDataAdapter code to update the server table - which works OK when...

VB 2005 - Windows Vista I have a form that seems to lock up when the number of rows exceed the height of the datagridview. The following code executes when data is received through the serial port (ie. barcode scanning). It seems that everything works GREAT and processes as it was meant to be until the rows exceed the display area. I have 7 columns. The Description column is the only column with the AutoSizeMode set to Fill. The...

I'm having a really strange issue with the DataGridView control in a VS2008 / .NET 3.5 winforms project. I have a simple form with a grid. In the form constructor I call a function to bind the grind to a DataTable, and then loop through the rows setting the background colour of the last cell to LightGrey and the cell itself to read-only if the column value is true. After the form finishes loading the code didn't work i.e. the cells are not set...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
