Execution of managed code upon Ctrl-C or some other "signal" to die?

Is there a way to execute any vb.net code when some type of signal to
die is given?

I found this reference, which may work
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...41695b36d28b8c

But I was looking for a more general solution.

Thanks.

Hi, I hope this post will find it's way to some MS technical authority... I am experienced with bought Unmanaged C++ and Managed code ( C# ), There are some issues with the .NET framework that make me wonder... Take in mind the following points: 1. Managed objects are managed by the GC through the managed heap. 2. The GC moves the physical data representation of managed objects to

I would like to know how do I pass a pointer to a struct from managed code to unmanaged code. For example if I create structure like this in managed code. StructLayout( LayoutKind.Sequential, CharSet=CharSet.Ansi ) ] public struct MYSTRUCT { public String Text;

Hi I have a project which is going to be doing some string manipulation which needs to be pretty fast. The user interface is going to be written in C#. I am going to write the string handling functions in a C++ DLL. My first question is, if I insert a C++ project into my C# solution, how will VS.NET know that I want it to be unmanaged code? I intend to be calling the DLLs functions using DllImport. I've heard that you can have unmanaged...

Hello, I have a worker thread that needs to call a method that only works on the main/UI thread. One way to accomplish this in managed code is to use Control.Invoke. However, in my case I don't have a .NET UI control from which I can call Invoke. I have tried to create a temporary, invisible Windows form and call Invoke against this, and while this sort of worked, it highlighted additional problems (which I have not resolved) and is...

am working on a project now for a client that requires all managed code. I have rewritten about 60% of the code and functionality in C# and have now come to the complicated part of picking apart the existing stored procedure and "managing" it. Two tasks that I am outing from the stored procedure are as follows: 1) execution of a .vbs that creates a .txt file (CSV) of user information 2) loading of said text file into an .exe and...

I have a problem about non-managed code and managed code.Could you like to give me some suggestion? In a non-managed MFC application project, I add some managed codes and these files are setted into /clr:oldSyntax. But the problem is that when the debug exits, the non-managed object CApplicationApp(maybe all the global and static objects)'s ~ctor is called twice. In fact the managed code only is a function without any statement and is...

I'm using Sleep(100) and that works OK. However, it would be better if my app continued to receive and process keyboard messages. How can I pause the execution of code in one routine while letting the app respond to keyboard input? Thanks

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
