ASP & VB.NET - Automatic Email Notification

16 New Member
Hello everyone,

I've done a lot of research to find a solution to my problem but nothing seems to work. I would be very glad if someone shares with me their knowledge :)

I'm developing an asset management web application using VB.NET and ASP.NET (in VS 2005) There's a function where I assign an item to a person which includes information such as from date, to date and alarm date.

I want my application to automatically send this person an email when today's date is equal or larger than the alarm date.
The system should get the email of that person from a table where the email already exists.

Could someone please help?
Thank you

Help. I need to create a simple database that tracks equipment arrivals (and departures) at my facility. What I want is to create a simple form, which the receptionist could fill out, every time someone delivers something at the front door. The form would simply have a place to put the time/date, delivery method, addressee, and a brief description. Once the receptionist filled it out and hit enter it would create a new record and then...

Hi. I am trying to test out the automatic maintanance with notification feature of DB2 v8.2. I have enabled the auto maint with notification. The problem I am facing is that I only get email notifications from DB2 when there is an alarm as follows: ADM10500E Health indicator "Monitor Heap Utilization" ("db2.mon_heap_util") breached the "upper" alarm threshold of "95 %" with value "124 %" on "instance" "DB2"....

In math this expression: (a < b) && (b < c) would be described as: a < b < c But why is it that in C these two expressions evaluate to something different for the same values of a, b and c?

I have an ASP.NET web page -- several auto-post back DropDownLists that perform a query against a relatively large database (3 to 4 seconds delay) that repopulate a couple of datagrids, comboboxes and a chart (using dotnetCharting control) on the same page. This works just fine on its own. However, when I integrated the page into the rest of the site, it is then placed inside a frameset. Again, the page seems to work fine EXCEPT under the...

We have been used XslTransform. .NET 1.1, for transform XML document, Dataset with xsl to HTML. Some of these html contents contain javascript and links. For example: // javascript if (a > b) ..... // xsl contents abc.aspx?p1=v1&p2=<xsl:value-of select="$v2" />

Hi, We have developed a VSTO 2005 Excel application and we would like to leverage ClickOnce deployment mechanism for distribution of this application. How can we do that? I was digging in MSDN for VSTO & ClickOnce documentation and did not find anything. I've noticed that there is an option to publish the project, but when I do that and then run the application from Web it throws us security errors like:

i see serveral source codes , and i found they almost only use "new" and "delete" keywords to make they object. Why should i do that , and as i know the object is going to be destroy by itself at the end of the app for example: class test { public: int x;

I'm going from VB.net. Is there a way to have VS automatically add braces to methods? Also in VB, you do not need to add () for a method or function that does not need parameters. Is there a way to have VS automatically add parathesis to function calls? This messes me up more than the braces. Thanks.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
