I am doing a complete backup on a sql 7 db and then doing a complete
restore (with overwrite existing db) on a sql 2000 server. This is now
our hot standby server. I have the process automated and it works
great. The only problem I have now is the logins dont work.
I have tried running EXEC sp_change_users_login 'Report', and the
logins appear.
However, when I run EXEC sp_helplogins 'joe', the results are empty.
So, I am guessing all...

Hi,
I am using the .NET validation controls for validating .
The validation works fine with IE but none of them work with
Netscape 6 browser.
Do i have to configure something in vS.NET to make the validations
work in Netscape too or is it .net validation controls dont work with
Netscape.

I'm stuggling with where to build my databas projects using .NET 2005. I've
got visual Studio 2005 installed and I'm trying to pull data from a Teradata
database and I would like to have a place where I can store my SQL Script and
test it against the server. In .NET 2003 I did this with a datase project
and chose to run the code against an OLEDB conenction to the Tereadata
server.
I can't seem to figure out what the best method is to...

Hi,
I have a database project and along with its scripts and stored
procedures I want to add them to the installer file (web installer
project). However sadly the database project is not listed as project
output when you try to add it. Nothing not even its contents......
what I wish is that I can add the Database project output.. so that
any changes or new sql scripts will be added or packaged every time
automatically and reflecting...

Hi guys!
I'll try to describe situation.
1. We have VS database project.
2. It contains table A.
3. In post-deployment script for the table A we have 'insert' statements
adding records to it.
4. Some of these records are adding temporary for development using only.
So the question is how can I make build not to perform these 'insert's in
case I create the production release build of the database?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
