Visual Studio Project User Options file Question

Hi,

I'm migrating an app from VC6 to VC2005 with the /clr option. I have a
question about the Visual Studio Project User Options file. Is there a way to
default it to certain name or not use it? Currently it is defaulting to my
full domain user name.

Currently this app is only being shared with me and a friend (which has his
own user file). We just either to remove it or set it to a generic user so we
can both use the file.

Thanks

Hi, I'm a bit confused ... when would I rather write an database application using MS Access and Visual Basic and when (and why) would I rather write it using Visual Studio .Net? Is it as easy in Visual Studio to create reports and labels as it's in Access?` The advantage of VS.net is that not every user needs Access, right? And that would eliminate the Access version problem as well I guess.

I'm currently experiencing a strange phenomenon: At my Office, Visual Studio takes a very long time to compile our solution (more than 1 minute for the first project). At home, Visual Studio compiles the same solution much faster (about 10 seconds for the first project). My home computer is only marginally faster than the one I have at the office (P4 2.53 vs. P4 2.4, same amount of RAM). On the slow machine, the CPU usage is very low,...

I have a Visual C++ Project (a C++ dynamic DLL) in Visual Studio 2003 ..NET. I want to use for example the _beginthreadex() function, but I cannot compile my code. The compiler breaks up with the message : '_beginthreadex': identifier not found, even with argument dependent lookup I added the include path to to the <process.h> file in SDK in the project options, but it does not help. I tried also to change the project options for the...

Introduction This tutorial describes how to use Visual Studio to create a new C++ program, compile/run a program, resume work on an existing program and debug a program. It is aimed at the beginning CIS student who is struggling to get their programs working. I work in the computer lab at the college I'm attending and I see many students who don't know how to use the IDE for best results. Visual Studio automatically creates a number of...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
