Hello,
I have a datalist that contains an asp button. I have the need to pass a
value that is bound to my datalist along the button when the on_click event
is fired. My datalist creates a button for each row in my datasource, so
each button needs to pass a unique value. My questions are:
1. How do I pass the value with the button without making it visible on the
button or form.
2. Is there a way to grab this value in the button's...

Hi Folks,
well I have this "small" problem with the footertemplate in a
datalist.
I added a button and a textbox to update the db with the given String
of the Textbox.
I already searched for it and know now, that I have to place the
handling in Itemcreated. So when I click on the button everything is
fine except when the sub "createSubject" is called, then I get an
"Object reference not set" error.

This should be relatively simple but I am unable to find an asp:button tag in
a datalist footer. I have tried it numerous ways including the FindControl
method from the many events that the DataList exposes and the result is
always null (I've determined the OnItemDataBound event will not find the
footer controls). I understand that I have to navigate the datalist object
tree, but I feel like it is a guessing game and am hesitant to do it...

I have a list of plain HTML radio buttons that I want to be able to
loop through, get the values from them and insert them into a db. each
one should be a separate record... Can anyone please give me some kind
of example on how to do this???? I am doing this in asp.net VB.

populates with a list of items and each one has a radio button next to it. I
need to use the radio button to allow the user to select a default item so
when the user clicks one of the radio buttons, it needs to clear the checked

Hello,
I need to add extra buttons to a datalist, but I don't know to add them to
the control. I need to use the onCommand Functions, like OnUpdate, OnEdit,
OnUpdate, OnCanel, Etc. I would like to do this VB.Net is that is can be
done. Any help would be great, I have been trying to do this for a while
and need help.

I am on the 2.0 framework and have run the c:\windows\microsoft.net
\framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -c and had no success. About
half of the buttons on my webforms are firing and the other half are
not, primarily anything on the Master is firing but those in the
