Having problem to publish a VB 2005 application with additional files

14 New Member
Hi when I publish my application using the publish wizard in VB 2k5
Everything works fine, but after i run through the installation of the application setup.exe. There's a folder missing which required the application to run the images on.

It is an external folder, when i debug application it runs fine, i guess is somehow when it got publish, it leaves out the image folder.

How do i make sure the image folder get publish as well with the application, i.e. when doing the setup it will also copy the folder to its execution folder?

The images i used is not set as resources in vb, the application just runs it by reading the image files from the folder.

regards

VS 2005 Professional RTM (8.0.50727.42) on Windows 2000 ASP.NET website Last week I converted a 1.1 ASP.NET (VB) project to 2.0. The conversion was painless on the VB code side. It was a lot of work however converting from a pseudo master page to a true master page but only from the HTML 4.0 to XHTML 1.0 standpoint. VS 2005 IDE seems to be significantly slower than VS 2003. I upgraded my PC memory to 1GB (which helped) but have an...

I have a .NET 1.1 application (C#) that I converted to .NET 2.0... Conversion was pretty painless, code runs from the development environment no problem... but when I try and publish... It says everything was successful. So what's the problem??? It never creates any files in the output directory... It will delete any existing ones but never creates anything. Nothing ever gets published Any ideas would be appreciated --

When I go to publish my web site with Visual Studio 2005, it would delete the destination files then claim the entire process was successful. When I check to see if all the files and folders were copied over, a majority of them are missing. Any clue why this would occur? Tony S.

Hello, I have been using OneClick deployment to deploy apps at my workplace. Works great! But now I have to deploy additional files with the app, like chms, rtfs. How do I publish the additional files? Do I add them to the project? I have a RichTextBox that will read the rtf's. RichTextBox1.LoadFile(Application.StartUpPath & "\myTest.rtf")

Regardless if I use the Publish feature of vs2005 or the addin Web Deployment Project I can't seem to get the necessary files deployed. For instance my bin directory has several .licx files but neither tool is smart enough to deploy those files so I have to copy them manually after deployment. Also, I would like to install the necessary Crystal dlls onto the target server but there seems no place to specify additional files to deploy. ...

Well, here's my first post in this forum (other than saying 'HI' over in the hi forum ;-) As I said over there: ... for a little side project at home, I'm writing a ham radio web site in uby/Rails. I started it in Perl and gave up on Perl as I went from the 'display the database information on the web page' to the 're-display the information from the database and allow the user to update the database using the web page' stage and realized...

VB2005 Express. I am developing a solution that involves a windows forms application and a number of class library projects (DLLs). Some of the DLLs require extra data files or third party dlls. I can include additional non-source files in my projects, but these are not always automatically included when I publish the application. It seems that files included in the main application project are included, but any files that I add to other...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
