Is it possible to run use TAF for SELECT failover with just two
separate oracle databases which are not part of OPS or RAC cluster?
My application is read-only so I do not need clustering or shared
disk. I just want the select statements to be re-executed on the
stand-by oracle instance when the first one fails. The databases are
on different machines with different disks but they contain the same
data.
Is this possible? How would I...

Hi,
This is one of those posts where not only do I not know the answer, I
don't fully understand the *question* that I should be asking... but I'll
try my best:
I've designed a web site which authenticates users via a login page. The
users can then access their account information. The types of reports that
the user can run depend upon the user's access level. I'm currently storing
all usernames, passwords, and access levels in a SQL...

I have an issue where the provided .wsdl file is being generated
incorrectly with the WSDL.exe tool. I have to use digital client
certificates for authentication and it has been determined...by another
business...that the proxy class was generated by the wsdl.exe tool
incorrectly for use with the client certificates. The solution was
stated to be to 'manually write a proxy class without using the
wsdl.exe tool'. I'm not sure how to do...

Hi all,
HttpWebRequest, and SoapHttpClientProtocol both expose a
ClientCertificates property, which can hold multiple client certificates,
but on the service side, it can only receive one client certificate, since
it derives System.Web.Services.WebService class, and it's
Context.Request.ClientCertificate is a single HttpClientCertificate object,
is there a way to receive all the client certificates that is sent in the
request? or does IIS...

We are developing a smart client application which consumes web services.
The web services are being secured with X509 certificates. During the
development/testing phase we have been using the X509 certificates which ship
with the WSE 2 install. I am interested in knowing from where one purchases
these Client/Servier certificates for commercial use, and pricing options for
the same.
Our initial research into CA vendors e.g. Verisign,...

i have a problem on a client. when i try to use a web-services call, i get
the exception: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish
secure channel for SSL/TLS."
spezial:
- there are two certificates - one on the host side, one on the client side.
- the call made by my broser (ie) us successful (so i think the certificates
are ok).

I'd like to connect to a webservice using TLS/SSL. I have two separate
client certificates:
1. A certificate for digital verification
2. A certificate for encryption.
When I use the first one (i.e. add it to the ClientCertificates
collection of the web request), I can establish a connection but I get
a WebException: "Underlying connection closed: Could not establish
trust relationship". When I use the second one I can't even establish a...

I have to write an asp.net app that uses a web service requiring x.509
certificates. Are there any good docs on how to do this both in code and on
the server. Most of the stuff I'm finding through google is old 1.1 docs.
I have the certificate.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
