I wanted to show an MPEG-4 video file on a web page. I'm talking about
a real iso-compliant file (with the .mp4 extension.)
I've been searching on how to use mime-types but it turns out that you
need to place a realvideo or quicktime file that links to the mpeg-4
file. But that's not what I want.
MPEG-4 is supposed to be the standard format for video on internet
(and also for other kinds of multimedia). So I want my MPEG-4 file
showing...

I copied it and tried to edit the movie.htm below in the <PARAM NAME=***
location of the file where the videoclip is on my hard drive. It is already
recorded by Windows Media Player. My version is 9.0 although it is coded
5.0 in this htm file.
Let me know if it is able to be fixed.
*** denotes where it is edited to locate the path where the videoclip is.

I have a DVD CD.
* Is it possible to embed it within an html page?
* Does the user has to have windows media player or any other program
associated
with it?
* How exactly do I use the <embed> tag?
* Do I have to convert the original to another format?

I followed a tutorial to learn about controlling video files (my area of
interest) using VB. The primary command for this is the mciSendString
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/multimed/htm/_win32_mcisendstring.asp).
Everything is working great except for one important feature. The
mciSendString opens video in a new window independent of my application. Is
there any way to embed it into the app? Ideally...

OK confessions out of the way - I went through the project properties and changed a bunch of stuff I shouldn't have. Then I built a release version without changing the directory, which defaulted to debug and dumped stuff there. Now neither one works.
In the debug version everything compiles OK, but at the end it sits there and says "Embedding manifest." And hangs. I go make coffee, play video games, come back and it's still...

Note: My apologies for repeating this post from last week, but my nospam
alias and profile account were incorrect. I think I have fixed this, so
hopefully this post will trigger MS into a response per their MSDN policy.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
