I'm still telling you you're posting to the wrong group. This is not a
Windows group. This is a group for .Net Programming questions.

You need to post your question to a *Windows* newsgroup. Those are at the
bottom of the dropdown list on the Microsoft Discussion Group site.

if you can set the sync rate of your card or if you have a word sync or are
connected with a digital in, maybe the sync rate is not right. I experienced
the same behavior with my Delta sound card until I found those settings. you
are probably using a sync at 96Khz and playing 44Khz or 48Khz audio so it's
distorted... it may also be as subtle as a sync at 48Khz and playing 44Khz
audio which is a noticeable difference...

I hope it helps, but as RobinS said, you're in the wrong group...

I am trying to create a thread to execute a script for me and then display the output in notepad. What is happening is when I call the CreateThread method and pass in the Routine and Parameter the parameter that is being passed is distorted when it reaches the routine. If I output the parameter in the routine it is just garbage. It works fine on Win NT but not in Win 2000. Here is my method that calls CreateThread

I have a customer who has a laptop with XP/SP2/MSIE 6.0.290.2180...etc. Latest version AFAIK. Problems in MSIE. The problems (below) do *not* show up on other XP systems with the exact same rev of MSIE or on other systems with other browsers. The problem is that some graphics show up a pixel oversize in the browser. In one obvious case, a line of graphics is in a table cell the exact (total horizontal) size of the graphics. A couple of...

There have been many efforts to innovate automobile design funded by the NHTSA, including the work of the NavLab group at Carnegie Mellon University. Recent efforts include the highly publicized DARPA Grand Challenge race. Relatively high transportation fuel prices do not significantly reduce car usage but do make it more expensive. One environmental benefit of high fuel prices is that it is an incentive for the production of more...

My ListView components seem to produce distortion when they are scrolled in Details view; it looks almost like the text has a "strike-through" attribute applied to it. Does anyone know of a fix for this? If not, is there an alternative component available (that behaves like a ListView) ? TIA L

I have the latest version of Visual Studio 2008 Professional, which allows you to create resource files (this is the .resx file, no?), unlike the Express version, which does not. I am trying to cut and paste code that MSDN recommends for playing a simple wav file from inside an embedded file, like presumeably the 'resources' file .resx is. I want to embed the .wav file in a 'resource file' since I don't want the user storing the file on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
