I think I've painted myself into a corner, and I'm hoping someone can help
me out.
I have a table of books (tblBooks), which includes a field (strPubName) for
Publisher Name and another field (strPubCity) for Publisher City. These two
fields have a many-to-one relationship with tables, (tlkpPubName and
tlkpPubCity) respectively. The lookup tables only have one field (strPubName
and strPubCity), which is their primary key.

I have a combobox with items like this: {one,two,three}. The selected
index is 0, so "one" appears in the combobox text. When the user drops
down the list, and selects "two", for example, I modify the Items
collection to be {two,one,three} and now want "two" to appear in the
combobox text. However, the combobox text is now blank. the is apparently
somehow the result of having changed the combobox.Items collection.

I'm looking for thoughts on the "correct" design for this problem (DotNet
2.0 - in winforms, but that's not so important). I've got two combo boxes
(combo1 and combo2), both are populating via database calls (using a
separate DB handler class). "combo1" contains a list of countries and is
fairly static, it can be added to but no other external events cause a

I want to set things up such that a section of code will have been
executed by the time one clicks on the drop down arrow on a combo box
control. Currently, that section of code resides in the OnGetFocus
event of the combo box control, and this appears to work...I'm
guessing because one cannot click on the drop down arrow of a combo
box control without first having the combo box control receive focus.
