I posted this yesterday afternoon, but for some reason, I don't see it in my
newsreader, on either of my 2 computers. So I am re-posting.
I'd like to see if there is any guidance in the form of sample code or a
tutorial for server-side validation. Specifically for the thing I am trying
to do, if a user types too many letters into Textarea, then they see an
error on the screen. I was able to catch most occurrences of this error with...

I want to know if ASP.NET Web Forms Validation Controls are Server-Side or
Client-Side form validation? Since I think each validator control can select
either 1) JavaScript based error dialog or 2) show the error message next to
the control. For example, if the text field is empty with RequiredField
Validator control, it can show the value in ControlToValidate property in
two ways as I mentioned.
Please advise. Thanks!

There was a problem with ASP.Net 1.1 creating/generating bad
javascript on html pages that I ran into and on the KB page that I had
found at the time it said that the problem was fixed in the .Net
Framework 1.1 SP 1.
So, I ran "NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe" thus installing that SP and now
I'm getting this very strange "A page can have only one server-side
Form tag." error and am wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. The
thing is, I...

I'm trying to create dynamic controls in ASP.Net. It's driving me
nuts. I keep getting the error:
Control '16' of type 'RadioButton' must be placed inside a form tag
with runat=server.
Dim Place1 As New PlaceHolder
Controls.Add(Place1)
For y = 1 To Choices.RecordCount
Choices.MoveTo(y)

I'm getting a {"Parser Error: The Runat attribute must have the value
Server." } error when I try to get the Server.GetlastError() in the
Global.asax codebehind.
Why am I getting this?
I tried to remove the code-behind and add the <script language="C#"
runat="server"> but that fails as well.
The code is simply:

I have a master page which contains a general page framework and also
contains a <form runat=server> around most of the content of the page. Inside
that <form> tag is a ContentPlaceholder.
I then create an ASPX which is tied to that MasterPage and in it a put a
bunch of form fields and an <asp:Button />. When I try to run the page, I

Hi,
I have a C++ routine(client-side) which uploads an xml file to a web server by making a socket connection and sending all the post request through that socket.
On the server side I have a cgi script which receives all the data and creates a file in the specified directory.
If I am uploading only the file all works well, however I want to send data of other fields too (field1, field2 ..etc), this fails the post request and even the file is...

Okay, so first of all, I'm a designer first and a light coder second (I'm only really trained with HTML and CSS). So I apologize for having to post about something that's probably super-trivial!
I'm working on setting up a shopping cart for a one-product web site, and I'm using HTML and CSS, with ASP for the shopping cart. The ASP takes the information from the form on the shopping cart, and formats it in to two e-mails: one for the company...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
