Can any1 explain the Diff Between Data Set and Record Set in detail
3 1220
The ADO Recordset object is used to hold a set of records from a database table. A Recordset object consist of records and columns (fields). However,
ADO.NET does not have this object and many use the datareader instead.
The DataSet object is similar to the ADO Recordset object, but more powerful, and with one other important distinction: the DataSet is always disconnected. The DataSet object represents a cache of data, with database-like structures such as tables, columns, relationships, and constraints.
Hope that this helps.

Here is an article that puts this to the test: ASP.NET DATASET vs. ASP RECORDSET
and the winner is recordset by a long neck, but I'm sure that you had already guessed that ;).

I use a function, myrandomPIN (), to generate random PIN numbers.
The following sql query updates records with the SAME PIN number but.
I want to generate DIFFERENT pin numbers for every record. The
function is ok but I can't figure out how to run it individually for
each record. In other words I do not know the correct syntax to use
UPDATE in a loop (if necessary) so that a different call to the
function is done every time or ecah...

Hi-
I have a lot of monthly time series data. I need to be able to compare
two dates and get the number of months that they are apart.
The datetime module is a daily-frequency data type. It has a timedelta
object that returns the difference in days between two dates:
>>> d1 = datetime.date(2002,1,1)

Hi all,
I have a query (query1) which shows scan date, scan time & operator. One
scan = 1 record. What I want to do is create a report based on query 2 from
query1 which shows all the scans AND the difference between each scan.
Something like below. I have spent days on this and can't figure it out.
Date Time Login Diff

I have a database (datatrek.mdb) with a table named DATA.
The table has a date/time field with default
value = Now(). It has 100 records in it entered over a 50-minute
period.
I would like the query to display 100 records with a new, calculated
field showing timelapse between time of record entry of current record
and time of entry of previous record. For the first record in the
dynaset, I'll settle for a value = 30 seconds. For the...

Hi all,
I try to create a tool to check the delta (diff) of 2
binaries and create the delta binary. I use binary
formatter (serialization) to create the delta binary. It
works fine but the delta binary is pretty huge in size. I
have 1 byte file and 2 bytes file, the delta should be 1
byte but somehow it turns out to be 249 bytes using binary
formatter. I guess serialization has some other things
added to the delta file.

Is there a tool that will merge XML documents? We also need the reverse, we
need to be able to create a Diff of two documents. What we're trying to do
is just store differences of documents at different levels of hierarchy in
our configuration store.
As an example, lets say at a certain hierarchy in our configuration store is
the following document:
<grid bgColor="Red" fgColor="Green" Width="200" Height="100">
<font name="Arial"...

Hi!
Suppose I have "pg_dump -s" of two pg installs, one is "dev", another is
"production". Their schemas don't differ too much, and I want to get a "diff
-u"-like schema diff so I can quickly add missing/remove old
tables/sequences/etc to one or another (manually). Is there some quick tool
for doing this ?
There was a thread about it sometime in aug, 2002, but it ended without
producing anything useful.

Hola!
I'm preparing my master thesis about a XML Merge Tool implementation and was
wondering if there is any open standard for XML diff regarding topics like:
- is a diff result computed on the ordered or unordered xml node tree of
the compared documents?
- what identifiers/criteria should be used by default to match elements of
the same type in different documents?
- should a diff tool consider move operations or only insert/delete

Hi,
I am working on an HTML WYSISYG Wiki and need to display a diff page like
WikiPedia does if two people edit a file at the same time to give the second
user the diff. Basically with additions in red and deletions in red strike
though.
There seem to be several in Perl and Python and many diff programs which all
seem to be line based and work on text written in PHP.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
