registering COM dll with setup project problem

hi

i've got a problem about howto register a COM in a Visual Studio 2005
setup-project.

this is the situation:
i've got a project (unmanaged C++ ATL that will generate a COM dll as
result). my second project is written in Visual Basic.NET (2005).
When I compile my COM project i see in the log that it will be
registered. When i start my second project it can use the registerd
COM and does what i want.

I want to create a setup project with the output of these two projects
so that i can install my application on an other pc.

The problem is that after installing my application with the installer
the COM dll is not registered so it can't be used. I saw in the setup
project that there are a few options about registering a DLL but i
don't know witch one to take and why and what setting in the COM
project to change etc.

any help would be appreciated

I went though the support documents and read the below, but the options I have are differenct:...

I know there is a way to add a .bat file to your setup package in .NET. I just have to run a regasm utility to register my dll. How can I make sure that the .bat file will be ran at the end? And is there any other way I can register my dll rather than adding a .bat file. I am trying to avoid adding files to my setup project. I have an registry entry which has the path C:\Program File\....\mydll.dll Now I tried giving \mydll.dll (in my...

I use "Click Once" Deployment from VS2005. Works like a charm. I have to deploy a console app and an MS Access ADP. The console app invokes the ADP. I copy the ADP to the application files to be deployed from the console app and then use the Process obejct to invoke the ADP on the end User's workstaion. Below in this post is the code I use in the console application. Anyway, I have had to add some additional functionality to the ADP...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
