HI, all.
Sorry for posting to so many groups, but I really don't know in which
group this question fits best. Anyways, here goes...
I have a bunch of DTS packages that my client application runs. I
also have a deployment package for my application, which deploys all
the DTS files (as described in
http://sqldev.net/dts/DotNETCookBook.htm ) on the client.

I know there is a way to add a .bat file to your setup package in .NET.
I just have to run a regasm utility to register my dll.
How can I make sure that the .bat file will be ran at the end?
And is there any other way I can register my dll rather than adding a .bat
file. I am trying to avoid adding files to my setup project.
I have an registry entry which has the path C:\Program File\....\mydll.dll
Now I tried giving \mydll.dll (in my...

Hi,
I have a .NET C# assembly which needs to be registered for COM so it can be
created by CoCreateInstance.
Proper installation puts that assembly in the GAC.
Registration is done by custom action coming from that assembly, which
simply calls
RegistrationServices and then RegisterAssembly with SetCodeBase flag.
I cant run that proper installation and I need to rebuild that module on my
machine.

Hi!
I have a C# project which references assembly myassembly.dll.
The project worked fine. Then I removed the reference from
the Reference list and added the assembly with the same name,
but an older version.
Regardless what I tried, I could not get the project reference
the new assembly. It constantly kept looking for the assembly
of the previous, as if though once added the assembly version

All i want to do is add a service line to the SCM.
I searched the net to do this in code with C# but found no decent way to do this. The only workable way was to use the .net utility installutil.exe. This util needs an excutable (or assembly) to run, so when run 'installutil.exe myexec.exe' i keep getting an error that my excutable has no 'assembly manifest'? I suppose installutil.exe trys to read the assembly and does not find the right ...

VB2005
I have created a class library project.
I have created a class using the COM class template.
In the Application tab under My projects if I click on Assembly Information,
the 'Make assembly COM-visible' box is checked.
In the Compile tab the 'Register for COM Interop box is checked.
In the Signing tab the 'Sign the assembly' box is checked, and I have
created a .snk file.
The Delay sign only box is not checked.
I have built the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
