Setting proxy credentials and proxy server details

Has anyone got any referece documentation on how to set the proxy
credentials and set proxy server details in WCF proxies? Basically I want to
do the following two scenarios we have done in pre-WCF environments:

//Set proxy credentials

ServiceB.Servic eB remoteService = new ServiceB.Servic eB();

NetworkCredenti al credential = new NetworkCredenti al("research", "nicetry",
"willyxpace r");

remoteService.P reAuthenticate = true;

remoteService.C redentials = credential;

// Set proxy details

remoteService.P roxy = System.Net.WebP roxy.GetDefault Proxy();

remoteService.P roxy.Credential s = CredentialCache .DefaultCredent ials;

Hello all, I apologise in advance for the long windedness of this post, but I feel that if I am going to get any solution to this problem, it is important that I present as much information that will be useful in diagnosing the problem. I have an application which calls a method of a web service that we host remotely. I have deployed the application to a

I am trying to set the Credentials property of my web service proxy and I cannot seem to get anything to work. I am calling a remote asmx page from an aspx and they each reside on different web servers. My application keeps throwing a 401 Access Denied error. Most web sites say to set the proxy.Credentials property to “CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials” which works fine when I run the aspx page from my local IIS on my development...

Hello, I need to write a simple proxy server. What I want to do is to use HttpListener to get requests from the browser, add some proxy information and some other stuff and send the request to the internet. Then I want to send the answer back to the browser... Sounds simple... But how can I do this?

Hi all, I've read all posts from all existing threads and none of them worked to solve my problem, although its exactly the same. I'll try to explain my case and see if a kind soul could help me out: I've a win32 service in C# on a client machine A, which accesses a WS (C#) on a server machine B (hosted on an IIS) Case 1: If I try to add the WSDL for the WS through VS2005, the 'Discovery

Please, if this is the incorrect forum for this question, let me know which forum is most appropriate. I want to make sure I get visibility with the proper gurus! I have a .NET console app that consumes an external web service. It has passed a userid and password to a web proxy object to pass through our corporate proxy server and has been running fine for weeks. Our operations staff has just changed the proxy server so that it now...

Is there a simple way to get my logon credentials to make my web request work through our proxy server? I tried CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials, but I get nothing back. I can get it to work if I just create a new NetworkCredential object specifying user, password and domain. But, I would rather get that info automatically if possible, rather than presenting a winform for them to type it in. Lastly, why do both the request object and...

A C# (.NET 2) application which uses the System.Net.HttpWebRequest object to request a resource over HTTPS is failing following the installation of a new proxy server on our internal network with 407 Proxy Authentication Required. The same request through the old proxy succeeds. The same request to an HTTP address through the new proxy succeeds. Also, the request succeeds when forced to use Basic authentication but fails on NTLM.

Hi, I've written a web service which needs to be accessed from mutiple customer sites and by non-technical users. The problem is that most end user's companies employ a firewall/proxy server to block web service traffic and they get back an error when attempting to access the web service. Is there a general way to authenticate to any firewall/proxy server? I also notice that there is a GetDefaultProxy method which returns the proxy...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
