I am developing an ASP.NET web service application. It works fine on my
WinXP Prof development machine. But when I send it to a Windows Server 2003
system I get the following error (attached below).
I suppose I have some kind of permissions issue on the server? What
recommendations can anyone propose?
Thanks,

Hi,
I have a project that calls a web service that is in another project,
but on the same server. I make the reference to the web service using
localhost (for example,
http://localhost/ProjectB/services/MyWebServices.asmx is the reference
within the project) as the domain, and it works fine in development as
well as a development server. However, when I move it to a production
server, I receive the following error:

I'm writing a .NET 1.1 client that invokes a method of a Web Service running
on another organization's IIS 5 server. I need help understanding a fine
point about HTTP, specifically in relation to the use of the Expect:
100-Continue header, in order to determine whether the problem is with my
client or their server.
Here's the situation:
After invoking the web service successfully one time, all subsequent
requests then fail. Using...

We are attempting to make a request to a web service (we will refer to it as
XXXServices) hosted on a Web Logic server from a C# SOAP client. The server
responds with a 401 Unauthorized error (that appears in plain text), and
causes the client to crash. This C# code has been deployed both as an
ASP.NET application and a WinForms app, each of which produced the same
result. Further, moving the clients from a Windows XP machine to Windows...

Howdy,
I wrote a web service in .Net for my customer. My customer has another
vendor who now has to consume it but they are not using Visual Studio. Most
of their pages are jsp, and they said they need to consume this web service
using HTTP. The developer's IDE is Notepad. Yeah, weird I know.
How is this done? I guess if I can get it to run ASP, IDE independant, that
should make them happy. Any references you can point me to?

I'm setting up a manually created WSDL file that defines the specifics
of the required elements, default values, etc. instead of using the
generated WSDL from the asmx?wsdl mechanism. Everything works with my
web service, but I would like to have some mechanism that forwards any
asmx?wsdl request to the manually created WSDL, to help guarantee that
a client is using the WSDL with the restrictions. I can't turn off all
documentation in the...

I created a Web Service: I imported System.Data.SqlClient so I could
access SQL server tables programmatically. The web service builds and
deploys with no problems. When I try to add the corresponding Web
Reference to the Web Site project I get the error listed below.
I am able to create other Web Services on the same server and I am able
to add Web Referneces to them. I have narrowed it down to the "Imports

Hello, I'm attempting to write a WinNT service that basically changes
the time zone and forces a resync with a time server on initialisation.
The service will then restore the original time zone upon stopping and
force another resync. I have two versions that does the same thing, the
older one works perfectly but I did not like its structure. Thus I
followed another template, which formed the new version. However, the
new version works,...

I am currently working on a client-server project using WCF. I have been using .NET for about 3 months now and have some questions about what it can do and how to do it.
Before the question, here is the process that program follows:
1) A user logs in on a messenger-esque windows application. They are validated using a web service call to a central server.
2) Embedded in the application is a WCF service that exposes certain information....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
