dotnet database Connection to Accpac

We would like to create an MsAccess.Mdb (or SBF or Sequel database) in
office 2000 to obtain individual table details from Accpac Plus in Dos (an
accounting program)?

This Access data will be used for viewing and printing and not for
accounting purposes.

Can we receive any ideas or a sample database of how to do this?

Thank you

Mehran

I am trying to convince a client that dotNet is preferable to an Access project (ADP/ADE). This client currently has a large, pure Access MDB solution with 30+ users, which needs to be upgraded. I believe a dotNet solution is better, but I'm trying to be as convincing as possible -- and maybe I'm wrong! I would appreciate any input or references which could help me.

I have an asp.net web application that I use with an Access data backend. I want to add a mini-client "offline" DotNet Windows App component in the event that I don't have an internet connection or maybe for some other reason. I envision downloading the data from the online version as needed (say using a web service) and loading that into the client version. How should I go about this? Should I store the data as XML and use that as a...

I'm having a very strange issue with an application I'm building. The applicaiton has multiple users, each with their own connection to the database. However, when one of these connections closes then all the other users connections seem to close. This is most obviously seen when I'm writing a rather large chunk of data with connection A. Then connection B comes in to the application and grabs a small piece of data. Of course, during...

Hallo! I'm working with C# .NET 2.0, implementing Client/Server Applications which are connecting via Network to SQL-Server or Oracle Databases. To stay independent from the underlaying Database I use System.Data.Common.DBConnection and .DBCommand. How can I keep aware from connection losses (network not availeable, db-server not available...)? Are there any strategies to detect this broken connections, and how can I

Web Solution Goal: Have a global database connection Why: (There will be 30+ tables, represented by 30+ classes) I only want to reference the database connection once. I put the connection string in the web.config. I created a class with a static database connection and the class opens and closes the database.

Hi. Not sure that this is the right place to ask but here goes. I have an application based on access97 and VB6 which I need to upgrade. It has to handle up to 20 concurrent users on a Win2k network ( to be upgraded to XP next year) which has no connection to the outside world, but normally there are no more than 2. It has approximately 150 tables with complicated validation rules and a large amount of calculation. I want to rewrite it...

Hi I have a page which I am trying to authenticate. When a visitor comes, I check to see if a $ticket variable is set or not. if it is not, I redirect the user to a third party site. Once the user gets authenticated there, he/she is redirected back to me along with a ticket number. I then need to open a HTTPS connection back to the server and send two parameters which in return I get the user's username. Is there way of doing this without...

I was using this code for an Oracle database and now the same database (accpac) is now been moved to an SQL database. A simple select query works, but not the following query. select distinct substr(trim(a.acctid) ,length(trim(a.acctid))-3,4) as vAccount,a.ACCTDESC from GLAMF a where length(substr(trim(a.acctid) ,length(trim(a.acctid))-3,4)) >= 4 Any suggestions would be most welcome

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
