I have written a VB.NET 2005 program using a MS Access database and a Datagrid control. The program works fine locally as an exe but when I come to Publish it (using the Click Once method and publishing to CD/DVD) I get a problem. The publishing Wizard works OK and produces the publication files but when I run Setup.exe I get an Unhandled Exception error "Cant find the file C:\Documents and Settings\..\Loc al Settings\Apps\2 .0\Data\....... .....\data\PI.m db" (I have not provided the full path as it is very long and includes long strings of characters & numbers). The program database file is located in the program 'bin' file. I think the problem is to do with the OldDbDataAdapte r but I cant see what is wrong.
The o/s is Windows XP Pro.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Regards
Lawrence

One thing I can think of is that you don't have the ODBC connection, or whichever connection it is that you need to connect to access DBs from applications.
The reason I think this is because within Visual Studio, you must setup your ODBC connections in order to connect to databases, and when you are running the application outside of VS, it cannot find the connection.

I just uninstalled VS 2005 Professional Beta 2 and replaced it with VS
Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and VS C++ 2005 Express Edition.
I am having problems publishing my ASP sites now. Namely, how do I do
it?
According to this article on MSDN,
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/library/377y0s6t.aspx, the Express Edition
does not let you use the Precompilation Publisher. So the question
then is, how do I?

I have been creating a C# app in VS2005 for the past 2 weeks and am

App_Web_n17jjav7 is the compiled dll that was placed in the bin

VS 2005 Converted Header causing error when publishing
After converting from Visual Studio 2003 to 2005, I have had several
issues with a header that is used throughout the project. The conversion
automatically created an abstract base class for the header in the
Migrated folder of the App_Code directory. One of the major problems
this caused was regarding the fact that I pass the header to a standard
error handling class to process the...

Hello,
I'm just starting to work with ASP.NET 2.0 and VS 2005.
If I understand correctly, even if I precompiled my application, I still
need to upload aspx.vb files to the server, correct? The way I did it in
VS.NET 2003 - uploaded only aspx and dll files - no longer works, correct?
At least it didn't work for me.
Thank you,

I've been using the VS2005 Publish utility on one of my projects for
about six months. I have a large site with hundreds of files,
thousands if you include the code behind files.
So I thought I'd use the publish utility and pre-compile my site, but
make it updateable. I thought I would be increasing the access time
for each page. Here is what I've found.
1. If I publish a pre-compiled, updateable version of the site, it
takes 50...

I was developing a large web site in VS 2005 as a web site project. I
was having problems with the VS 2005 publish tool. It was slow, and
provided no feedback. It has other issues as outlined below.
Here is my solution. I converted the application from a Web Site
Project (WSP) to a Web Application Project (WAP). Go to http://webproject.scottgu.com/
and read about the Web Application Project in VS 2005.
Why?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
