Publishing ASP.NET 2 with VS 2005 Express Edition - Where are the DLLs?

I just uninstalled VS 2005 Professional Beta 2 and replaced it with VS
Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and VS C++ 2005 Express Edition.

I am having problems publishing my ASP sites now. Namely, how do I do
it?

According to this article on MSDN,
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/library/377y0s6t.aspx, the Express Edition
does not let you use the Precompilation Publisher. So the question
then is, how do I?

I need to compile the site and produce a distributable output somehow.
ASP 1.1 was deployed with DLLs and ASPX pages. How do I get the DLL
output with ASP2 and VS2005?

Also, is there a difference between Debug and Release mode? I don't
see an option for this either.

Thanks

with the express versions, you will have to write your own build scripts.
see the aspnet_compiler .exe documentation.

Hi I installed .NET 2005 express edition, and am about to unnistall it again because it can't seem to be able to even insert a resource file into a project. Can anyone tell me is this right? Should it be able to? I know it's express edition, and therefore limited functionality, but surely resources are quite fundamental? Also, once it's downloaded, is there any way of getting access to the fully downloaded file incase you want to...

I recently purchased a good MS book ("Build a Web Site Now") by Jim Buyens. It has the Express Edition of MS-Visual Web Developer 2005 on CD and also MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition on the CD. A couple of questions for this newbie: Can MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition be used in place of the older MSDE product for backend database work? I also have Visual Studio .NET (VB) 2003 (Standard Edition). How compatible are all these products...

I've been using the VS2005 Publish utility on one of my projects for about six months. I have a large site with hundreds of files, thousands if you include the code behind files. So I thought I'd use the publish utility and pre-compile my site, but make it updateable. I thought I would be increasing the access time for each page. Here is what I've found. 1. If I publish a pre-compiled, updateable version of the site, it takes 50...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
