Hello!
I'm trying to associate a file extension to my wxPython script so that
all I have to do is double click on the file and my python script will
load up with the path of that file.
For instance, I've associated all .py files to be opened up with
emacs.exe. If I double click on a .py file, emacs.exe would open up
with that file in its buffer.

Hello,
I created a script to upload a file.
To determine the file type I am using userPostedFile.ContentType.
For example, for a png image I get "image/png".
My questions are:
1. Where can I find a list of all the types which can be returned?
For example, if it is a Word document will it return "document/doc".

We've got a project going that involves moving an old web site with a
massive dll written in C++ that produces most of the output from a SQL 7.0
data base on NT4 onto IIS on Windows 2003 Server with SQL 2000. All new
code is being written in C# using ASP.NET and we are using forms
authentication to control access to particular directories/applications.
We are having a hard time figuring out how to configure the thing so that
existing...

Hi everyone,
What I am doing in my application is I have a base app, then a bunch of
plug-in dll files. Well this gets confuseing to diferentiate between the
real plug-ins and the actual link libraries that are not to be used as
plugins (in reality they are both DLL files) is there anyway I could make
VS.NET compile my VB.NET DLL plug-in projects into a diffrent extension but
still be DLL files? (i dont feel like changeing tens of...

Hello
I have to create a small addin which works on Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel on Office 2000, XP, and 2003.
This addin consists in adding 2 new Buttons in the "File" Menu of office. This is properly done, but the events which should be triggered with the button.click method are not triggered in Word.
I don't understand because it properly works in the 3 others host applications.
If someone has an issue, I would be most grateful....

I am testing AJAX. I've downloaded the AJAX Extension and the CTP
December package and installed on BOTH my development machine and the
production server.
Then I created a very very simple web application, which contains a
button and a label. When the button is clicked, some message is shown
on the label. That's it.
The AJAX works great on my development machine, but on the production
server, I got the typical error as follows:

The executable produced by my VB .NET/VS 2003 application has the
default blue icon associated with it. I have a custom .ico image I use
for shortcuts in my build and it works fine.
What I cannot figure out how to do is to also associate my icon image
with the primary output .exe file.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

In a styled WPF application, I need to write a custom file browser in
C#/WPF. As it is styled differently to generic Windows apps, I cannot use
the standard open file dialogs.
Writing a tree or breadcrumb is easy enough when it just needs to browse
physical local drives. But how do I browse the machine and networks using
the namespaces like Desktop, Network, Public etc.? I can write namespace
extensions fine, it's just the viewer side...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
