Deployment of ASP 2.0 and C# project in Windows 2003/IIS - where is dll

10 New Member
I am new to .Net.

I created a project called Tracking under C:\Tracking. The source code (.cs, aspx, image etc.) is under C:\Tracking.

When I deploy the code under C:\Tracking in IIS, it cannot find pages even though I have added my startup page and created new app under IIS.

I do not have any dll under C:\Tracking. From what I understand, Tracking.dll will get created everytime I compile (Build/Re-build Solution) . I do not see any dll getting created with the name of the project anywhere in my C:\ drive..

Do I also need the dll? How, when and where does this dll get created? If this dll is required, Can I create a bin directory under C:\Tracking and save this Tracking.dll under C:\Tracking\bin and deploy the project in IIS?

I have an ASP .Net project that contains some crystal reports. I am unable to run the setup and deployment program on a Windows 2000 Server machine. I get the following error message: This setup requires IIS 4.0 or higher and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. This setup cannot be installed on Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME. Please Install IIS and run this setup again.

We are developing ASP.Net apps. We would like to use the Deployment project to create MSI files that would be installed on to the production servers. This will allow us to have our operations department do installs at night easily. The problem I have encountered is there seems to be no way of targeting a specific site on the server. When I try to install it will always go to the first site in the list. Each site has a seperate IP and URL...

I'm working with VS.NET 2003 and .NET 1.1 (not SP1) on Windows XP SP1. My application is using the Windows Installer Bootstrap. (I may have also installed a module which detects requirements (.NET 1.1 -> MsiNetAssembly Support.) I have a few issues and questions regarding the MSI and its properties. * This may be my biggest annoyance at the moment. When the installer creates the target directory, it's setting them as read-only. When the...

I was always able to build the deployment package after changing the windows forms application, but somehow something changed. When I try to build the deployment project, it builds the windows application without errors, but when packaging I now get the following error: "File not found <Filename>, Interface not supported". When checking <Filename>, it...

After a week of beating my head against a wall I still continue to receive the following error message when trying to deploy a package using the cabinet option. The same error occurs with a different "cabinet" name when using the setup file option. The file "_5F6C71C 2868460B5581E521727434428" cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file "SETUP.CAB". This could indicate a network error, an error reading...

Hi, I have written an App in vb.Net (2003) which references Excel 2000. This creates a Interop_Excel.dll which I need to reference in my project. All OK so far. I had to modify the Interop_Excel.dll and renamed it tm_Interop_Excel.dll after modification. This new dll has a strong name and all the correct attributes. If I create a deployment project for my app, the tm_Interop_excel.dll is

Create two ASP.NET applications. Run them on the development machine to make sure they are error free. Publish the fist application to the root of a remote webspace. Call a page and see that it operates correctly. Publish the second application to the root of the same remote webspace. Permit it to overwrite existing files. Call a page and notice that it waits forever.

I have a web project compiled with the new "Web Deployment Projects" plugin for VS2005. I'm deploying the web project to one assembly and with updateable option set to ON. When I'm running the generated code on a W2K3 server the application_start and any other event on the global.asax file won't fire. I added tracing and logging to make sure and I can see the code is just not execution. When running the same exact (deployed etc.) code on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
