VS 2005 Vista Compatibility

I'm running RTM Vista and have installed VS 2005 Pro. Despite compatibility
warnings, all seems to running ok. The exception is the Windows Mobile SDK.
I downloaded the WMSDK 5.0 and attempted to install but received an error
stating the ActiveSync must be installed first. ActiveSync 4.x does not
install on Vista so the question is can I use the WMSDK with my
configuration.

Thanks

Hi As Windows Vista is around the corner, I'm considering upgradeing my dev machine. But, one thing I'm curiouse about it if there are any known issues with Vista and Visual Studio 2005. Not fun to use 2 days reinstalling, and when I'm finnally sitting down to do some programming, something hangs or is broken. I've heard something that Visual Studio 2005 will not be supported until SP 1 for VS is released. Anyone got any info?

I installed VS.NET 2005 final on Vista Ultimate RTM. I have a web project that I'd like open but receive this message: The project file 'c:\myproj.csproj' cannot be opened. The project type is not supported by this installation. I then downloaded and installed the web application support for VS.NET 2005: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=8B05EE00-9554-4733-8725-3CA89DD9BFCA&displaylang=en. Still same error.

Hi, We currently have a fairly old product, which was originally only compatible with SQL 2000. When we upgraded our server to SQL 2005, the client product gave us a "This product is not compatible with this version of SQL server" error. We put the server into SQL 2000 compatability mode, and things worked.

Hi, Hoping someone out there can help me... I just built a new Vista Home Premium 64 PC. So far everything has gone well so this morning I decided to install Visual Studio 2005 Professional. Whilst installing I got some dialogs saying there were compatibility issues with the O/S but I let it install anyway assuming that the Vista SP1 would solve them (which the MS site says it does). So, apart from that, VS2005 installed fine and it...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
