Hi everyone,
(I already posted this to the VS.NET IDE news group without any responses, so I'm attempting one more time in this group)
The issue I'm having is occuring in the IDE of VS.NET 2003, although I'm not sure what is actually causing the problem. I can't
summarize the issue, so please read on to find out more.
I've created a BaseDialogEditor class that allows a developer (namely me) to create Modal editors for controls at...

hello,
i'm currently using a PropertyGrid to monitor the properties of some
numerical objects, mainly composed of ints and floats that must stay in a
specific range. The logical choice for editing that is a TrackBar in a
DropDown control.
I managed to write the code for that and it works. However, I would like the
numerical value displayed in the propertygrid to be updated as I slide the
track bar (for now the value changes when the...

I've got a plugin architecture system that calls LoadFrom to load the .dlls
in a specific folder and it works fine and dandy, imports everything, my code
can create objects from types found in the loaded .dlls
HOWEVER, One issue i've not been able to solve is that, in some of the
classes, I've got custom Type Editors that do not function when I try to edit
them via a PropertyGrid that is on my application's main form.
Whenever I create...

Herfried K. Wagner was kind enough to point me to the PropertyGrid control
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfsystemwindowsformspropertygridclasstopic.asp
I have found a few samples of how to use the PropertyGrid control and have gained a decent understanding of it. But of course, as it usually the case, my needs go far beyond the simple examples shown in online samples. All the online samples show how to take a class...

Hello everyone,
I have created a custom component and one of its properties is a class
object with it's own properties. During runtime, I can assign values to the
class object properties just fine. However, when attempting to assing
default values as designtime in the propertygrid, nothing is working on the
class object. I know that I am doing it wrong, any ideas what it is?
Thanks in advance

I have created an image selection dropdown editor for use in a
PropertyGrid. My selector form is called dropdown by a
IWindowsFormsEditorService and so far it's all sweet.
On my selector form I have placed a lot of pictures the user can select
from. I have also placed a button with "From File..." that opens an
OpenFileDialog (Remember that this is still in the dropdown dialog form
of the PropertyGrid). The problem is that when the...

I try to invoke Connection Properties dialog box that Visual Studio 2005 use.
The dialog that I said is used in many places such as when developers build
connection string in Settings.setting file
(http://www.one.co.th/downloads/Settings.settings.png). The Connection
Properties dialog box will appear to allow developers to build connection
string. I found article
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q309485) in MSDN...

Hi there
I have a Propertygrid in a C# project that has a number of IP addresses
displayed.
What I would like to do is to a) Edit them in-place as the 4 octets, ie
edit them as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx possibly using the IPControl, and b) validate
them on losing focus in the editing area.
I've done a lot of googling, and frankly, I am now confused!

I have a custom property grid. I am using custom property grid as I do

The custom property grid doesn't show colloections i.e. if I have a
List<Objectthen the Collection is shown but when I click on the
"..." button next to it nothing comes up.
If I say CustomPropertyGrid p = new CustomPropertyGrid();
p.SelectedObject = new...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
