XMLHTTP and SOAP Exception

I'm accessing a Web Service through XMLHttp object from a JavaScript client
code. I don't understand how to appropriately handle exceptions from the Web
Service.
Does anyone have a piece of code of a Web Service throwing an exception and
a client code catching it?

TIA,

Andrea

When an ASP.NET web service throws an exception and the exception is not
handled, ASP.NET will create a SOAP Fault and return that to the client. The
client would then have to notice that it received a fault instead of the
response it expected.

Hi, I've been looking into the possibility of using XMLHTTP for my enterprise application but I still have a question. When you send the request to the server, how does the server know how to handle the request? (i.e. how do I specify what method to call in my java servlet?) I'd appreciate any help on this.....I've only got a vaey basic

Hi All, After creating an end-point with batches enabled using SQL Server 2005, I can easily query a database and have xml returned from within javascript using something like Pablo's code (below). But, if I try the same code from VB6 or VB.NET (a straight forward port - swap ActiveXObject for CreateObject, remove ';'s etc) I always get 'Incorrect Parameter' on the send method of xmlhttp.

Hello, I have encountered some strange behaviour when using the XMLHTTP Request object in Javascript to return xml from a C# Webservice Method. I create a SOAP envelope and send it off to the Webservice, which I have debug points in, which when hit I can see that all the parameters are coming thru as null. I can't figure out why this is, any experts out there would be a great help. Here is my Javascript: function showMsga()

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
