xml question

Hi I am trying to create the following line in an xml fileusing the xml writer,
<Style ss:ID="Default" ss:Name="Normal ">

I have ss set up as a namespace I think, see below.
Dim spreadsheetName space As String =
"urn:schema s-microsoft-com:office:spre adsheet"
writer1.WriteAt tributeString(" xmlns", "ss", xmlns, spreadsheetName space)

I tried the following but it did not seem to work.
writer1.WriteSt artElement("Sty le", ID = "Default", spreadsheetName space)
thanks Paul.
Thanks Paul.

Hi Paul,

If you the namespace uri when writing the attributes the writer will take
care of emitting the correct xmlns attribute:

writer1.WriteSt artElement("Sty le");
write1.WriteAtt ributeString("s s", "ID", spreadsheetName space, "Default");
write1.WriteAtt ributeString("s s", "Name", spreadsheetName space, "Normal");

Thanks,

Hi Helena, thanks for the response. I ended up just using the WriteRaw
member of the xmlwriter which seems to work except that it puts everything on
1 line. Do you know if this is ok or if it will not be read correctly? Also
I will try to impliment the attributestring s as you have shown.

Hi that worked, on the next line I want
<Alignment SS:Vertical="To p"/>
just wondering if you might know how to write that with the xml writer?
It appears this is just an Alignment tag with an attribute.
thanks.

Hi Paul,

1) WriteRaw will allow you to write anything. You don't need to use the
XmlWriter if you don't want any wellformedness checking.
2) You can write the Alignment element with the same methods I showed you.
3) <element/is and element that does not have any attributes, content or
end tag and it is called an empty element tag. You can write it using
WriteStartEleme nt immediatelly followed with WriteEndElement .

Thank you,
-Helena Kotas

ok thanks for the response, I was able to write the Alignment element with
the methods you provided. I noticed when I try to open the file there is an
error and it is supposed to write to an error log as a filename and path is
provided (in excel) but the file and path does not appear to exist.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
