Following earlier discussions about invoking a .NET class library via ..NET-COM Interop (using regasm /tlb) at http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&threadm=%23Van7eSrEHA.4004%40TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fhl%3Den%26lr%3D%26selm%3D%2523Van7eSrEHA.4004%2540TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl I have concluded that my .NET class library (following the suggestions. namely setting the marshall type, etc.) , I can 1) Invoke public methods...

HI there First time poster, long time lurker I am building a windows class library that will be used on an active server page. The purpose of the library is to copy files from one server to another. The number of files to be copied will range anywhere from 1 to 1000. Seems simple enough, but here's the catch: the code will be running in domain A and the source files will need to be copied from Domain B to Domain C. My issue is...

Here is the problem. I built LibA and LibB as class library projects in the same solution as my web application HelloWorldWebApp. Wherever necessary I added project references. Everything compiled nicely and ran smoothly. After I finished my development, I wanted to use LibA across multiple projects so I removed LibA from the solution and copied the LibA.dll to a common location and added it to HelloWorldWebApp as a file reference. Now,...

Hi, When you call the method My.Application.Info.ProductName it returns you the name of the project. So if you use this method in a Class Library, it will return you the name of the Class Library. But is there a way, when using it in a Class Library, top return the name of the application that uses the Class Library? Thanks a lot in advance,

In VS2003 I had a class library project that I started via a URL and I had ASP.NET debugging enabled to allow me to debug the web pages code behind in my project. I have moved the app to VS2005 and I no longer have that option (Enable ASP.NET debugging checkbox on the project properties Debug Tab). I can still debug the app by attaching to the aspnet_wp.exe process. However, is there another way to do it - has this option been moved...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
