How to update a table in VB.net using oledbconnection

10 New Member
I have doubt in VB.Net on how to update the records in table. I m using MS Access database. I have a table named len_graph with 9 fields like Lenid,Lenval,Le nval1,test1,tes t2,test3,test4, test5,test6.

At first time when the start button is clicked the records are added in the table where only 4 fields of the table is filled . When the button is clicked the second time I want to update the table by entering the data in the fifth field also(ie., test2 field) but I am unable to update the table.

I m using OLEdbconnection for connecting the database

Suggest me a solution for Table updation.

Dim db as string = Server.MapPath( "dbname.mdb ")
Dim conn As New OleDbConnection ("PROVIDER=Micr osoft.Jet.OLEDB .4.0;DATA SOURCE=" & db)
Dim strSql As String = "update len_graph set test2 = " & test2 & " where Lenid= 1;"
Dim cmd As New OleDbCommand(st rSql, conn)
conn.Open()
cmd.ExecuteRead er()
conn.Close()

I need the code to update the database when Save is clicked and a text field has changed. This should be very easy since I used Microsoft's wizards for the OleDBAdapter and OleDBConnection, and DataSet; and all I'm doing is showing one record in text fields, allowing the user to modify the text fields, and then updating the database again when the user clicks the Save button. The fields already show the correct data record since I have...

Hi All, I'm building a Windows Form application that will use a Microsoft Access mdb file as a data store. I have a section of code that is executed when the main form is closed that _should_ update a setting value in a table in my mdb file. The code executes without any error, but the value in the table appears unchanged when I open up the table in the mdb file. I call this function in the FormClosed event of the app's main form.

I'm writing a little app to get data from a CSV file generated everyday by a vendor and insert it into a Table in our SQL Server database. I can get the data fine, and I can easily merge it with another dataset I pull from the existing table (which is exactly the same except for an Identity Column as PK). When I call SqlDataAdapter.Update, no error is generated, but it makes no changes as well. I have one row present in the Database and...

I'm using OleDb to connect with an Access Database. I have anywhere from 10 to over 100 records that I need to either INSERT if the PK doesn't exist or UPDATE if the PK does exist, all in a single transaction. Does anyone have an SQL statement I can throw at it that would accomplish this? If I can't figure out how to do it, I'm going to have to send two discreet SQL commands for each record which will take infinitely longer than a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
