How to I get the relating table Text entries to show in the datagrid instead of the corresponding relating table row id numbers? The DataMember/DataSet of the DataGrid is a relational MS-Access table (called: "Main"). This Main Table has several linked lookup tables. The problem is the DataGrid shows (for table columns with lookup tables) the row ID numbers (keys) of these linked/relational tables instead of the text entries for those...

Hi all, In VB6 I used a 3rd party tool for line numbering my source code, to help with debugging. However, in experimenting with VB .Net I've noticed that my exceptions automatically provide line numbers, with no effort required from me. Is this a standard offering in .Net, or is rolling your own line numbers still the way to go? Also, my components at the moment are being compiled in debug mode. Will line numbers still be available...

Hello all After years of playing developing stuff for fun and personal use I'm finally developing an app that I am intending to sell. As such, I'm trying to make it as reliable and stable as possible and also ensuring that it fails gracefully. So, I'm trying to use the Erl property of the Err object so the users get a line number as part of the error if things go wrong to make troubleshooting easier.

In ASP.NET 1.1, I have SmartNavigation turned on so that the user's focus will remain on the line in the datagrid they choose to edit. When the user chooses to add a new line in the datagrid, rather than only show that line, I'm displaying all items in the datagrid, with the new line at the bottom. With grdResults ' Set editing on last row .EditItemIndex = .Items.Count .DataSource = ds

I would like to implement a drill-down report using the ASP.NET datagrid. From what I have read online, a way to do this is to have a user control that implements the second-level data when you drill down from the first level. This user control would be passed some info about what row it is representing and would implement a second datagrid that would be nested in the first one. The outer grid's EditItemTemplate would contain the user...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
