Hi Guys,
I already build my "wonderful" webService and it returs DataSets exactly
like I want, and it does wonderful things...
but...
Now that I develop a Window Forms application that consume that web
service, I need to change the WS from my local machine to the Client machine
(so, I will change the WS address), I want to compile the Window Form App
and send it to the client, and in a Settings Menu I would be abble to add
the correct path for the web service, that's done, the thing is:
How can I, in code, use that variable instead the one that VS2005 created
automatically when I register a WebReference ?
All the help is gratly appreciate.
Thank you.

Have you looked at the reference.cs file? Make sure you can view all
files in your project (Project->View All Files). That said... sounds
like it's time to switch to WCF.

Hi all,
I am trying to install a service using dynamic naming. I wrote values in the
configuration file, and trying to assign one of those values to a string,
and using this string as the name of the installer
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

I have put some code together that creates an enum dynamically from some
database values.
The enum can be read perfectly by an application that references the
dynamically generated dll.
If I /emit/ a new version of the assembly, and start the application
again, the new values will appear for the enum.
However, suppose I want the application to remain in a running state.

Hi there,
Is it possible to load a web service dynamically? i.e. If the web
service were to exist on a system with a non static IP address, an
application could download a "locator" file that contained details of it's
whereabouts, I have been looking at the "Discovery.DynamicDiscoveryDocument"
class but I think think this is what I am looking for is it? Thanks in
advance.

All,
I have a web service client written in VB.NET. It is a class library
assembly (.dll file). I made a web reference to a web service and set it to
be dynamic, so it puts the URL of the web-reference in the application
configuration file (app.config)
However, at runtime, the code in the DLL thinks that the config file is the
config file of the .exe calling it. It obviously does not contain my web
reference. Here is my proxy...

I have a VB.NET desktop program that reads/writes data to a server
using a Java-based Web Service. This web service, in identical
formats, is located on several servers with each server being a
different customer and different data content.
To connect with the Java Web Service, I downloaded the WSDL file and
used wsdl.exe to create a .vb class file. In my program, I simply call
the functions of the class to communicate with the server.

We have an application converted from v1.1 Framework to v2.0. The executable
references a class library which in turn has a web reference. The web
reference 'URL Behavior' is set to dynamic. We added an entry to the
executable's .exe.config file to specify the URL, and under the 1.1 framework
this worked well. Unfortunately, this is not working under the 2.0 framework.
I see in the Reference.cs file under the web service reference the...

I need some help regarding the mechanism to put in place to be able to
dynamically update a remote object when the assembly where it is defined is
modified, and this whitout having service interruption.
Basically what I'm missing is how do we re-expose a remote object when
assembly has changed, and this without any interruption to the callers.
I have an application that exposes a remoting object (Well known service -

hi
i have a question about how to arrange linkage between a "framework"
executable and an extensible set of "applet"s in DLLs that plug into the
executable.
the main exe is an application for managing interactions between "applets"
which live in the dlls. the main exe offers communications between the
applets, and also certain services that the applets can make use of. the
question is, how to offer these services to the dlls. they can...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
