I have an ASP page that is sent a file location as a parameter. It opens this file, loads the ADODB.Stream object and does a binary write to the page forcing the download dialog to appear. This all works fine. If the user selects "Open" or "Cancel", the window closes, which is the desired behavior. If they select "Save", the location dialog shows up, they save the file and the window remains open. I've tried a number of things to get...

Hi, My current job is to develop VoiceXML dialogs. The voice platform that we use provides neither a debugger nor a simulator, and each time I want to test a new dialog, I have to upload it on the remote production server, and to call the voice platform. So I would like to know where I can find a freeware VoiceXML simulator able to run a VoiceXML dialog. As my dialogs only use DTMF as an input, and text-to-speech synthesis for the...

Hi, I'm interested in using python to start writing a CAD program for electrical design. I just got done reading Steven Rubin's book, I've used "real" EDA tools, and I have an MSEE, so I know what I *want* at the end of this; I just have never taken on a programming task of this magnitude. I've seen that some are using python as a utility language for existing CAD environments, and I've also found some guy who's writing a 2d drafting...

I was wondering if anyblody can suggest me a network simulator written in python in which I can add on my own code and extend its functionality. I am looking for a simulator which will simualte TCP, UDP, RTP and most networking protocol. The learning curve for ns2 and other simulator is too high for me at this time and thats why I am considering Python for it. Every help will be appreciated.

Hi, I need to write large quantities of data to a file in C. The data comes from statistics that are continuously gathered from a simulator, and in order to not slow the whole thing down I would obviously want the writes to go as fast and efficient as possible. Since I/O operations are rather slow, I was thinking that using a large buffer would be better than writing each data point every time. Each data point calls my function, at which...

Note: You may skip to the end of the article if all you want is the perl code. Introduction Many websites have a form or a link you can use to download a file. You click a form button or click on a link and after a moment or two a file download dialog box pops-up in your web browser and prompts you for some instructions, such as “open” or “save“. I’m going to show you how to do that using a perl script. What You Need Any recent...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
