Accessing a known Web Service url from a .NET application

I am getting the credential dialog screen asking for user id, password and
domain when adding a web reference ( a known Web Service url which is a
static ip address link from a remote .NET application ). I have set
anoynomous user rights in the IIS where my web service resides.. I can view
the web service in the IE..

I want to access it from .NET client. Please help me out.

You want to access the web service from a .NET client and you need to pass
the credentials it sounds like. Perhaps -

MyApp.MyService .Service s = new MyApp.MyService .Service();

NetworkCredenti al cr = new NetworkCredenti al("username", "password",
"domain");
s.Credentials = cr;

Hi David

I am getting the credential dialog bix when i

(i) click add web reference in the .NET windows application and
(ii) paste the url for e.g http://192.123.123.123/test/myservice.asmx
(iii) and click Go
Please not that 192.123.123.123 is a static IP address and everything works
fine in a LAN network..

Hi All, I am trying to access a mapped network drive from a service that I have created. The service needs to create/delete folders/files on a network drive. When I tried to connect to a folder on mapped network drive (eg. N:\Storage that corresponds to \\FS1NS\SharedDir\), I get an error as "Could not find part of path N:\".

Hello all, I've tried posting this same question on other newsgroups with no luck. This group seems to have a lot more activity so I apologize if you have seen it before. I'm trying to create a web service in c# using paradox data. The data is stored locally on my development machine with IIS also installed. Web services are working to the point where I can return strings and ints using Access2000 data but whenever I try and...

Hello, I'm running an ASPX application "WebApplication1" which consumes a web service (service1.asmx) hosted on a machine with IP (128.1.7.x) . The web service is located in the intranet. The web methods can be invoked successfully if "WebApplication1" is located in machines with the same subnet (128.1.7.x). However, it fails if "WebApplication1" is hosted on

Hi, when accessing a secured 3rd party webservice i'm getting a 401 HTTP Statuscode (unauthorized). When entering the url in a browser and entering the username and password manually, the wsdl is returned. So the username and password should be ok. I'm using this code: Merchant myMerch = new Merchant(); myMerch.merchantIdentifier=merchantId;

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
