Visual Foxpro - ODBC from Business objects

Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct group to post this.

I have the following enviroment :-

Server A - Windows 2000 Server SP4 - Running Business Objects
Enterprise 11
Server B - Windows 2000 Server SP4 - File server holding Visual Foxpro
data.

I have created an ODBC connection from the Business objects server to
the foxpro files on the file server. If I run a crystal report using
this connection all is fine. If I publish this report to the Business
Objects web server, it always fails.

I have set up auditing of the files on the file server to see if I have
a permissions problem.
- when the report runs via the web server, nothing is logged as to
accessing this file - i.e. it's not even attempting to connect to the
files. I can't find any options to specify any kind of network login
within the odbc connection using this driver.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have some Visual Foxpro tables that I want to convert to tables in a MySQL database. VFP contains no MySQL export facility. Can anyone suggest a tool to handle the conversion? An indirect conversion via an intermediate format supported by both would be OK. Many thanks.

Hi, I have a large FoxPro table with an index that I need to be Queried from SQL Server by OLE.DB or ODBC. If I query the DBF directly a search takes 1 Minute +. Is there a way I can call the data from the table and use the existing FoxPro Index? Thanks Steve

OS = WinXP & Win98. Access = A97 & AXP Q1) Where can I find the VFP ODBC driver at Microsoft. I have been working developing an app in Access that will link to some DOS FoxPro tables. I have been doing my development work in A97 but the folks have AXP at their site. As near as I can tell, the FoxPro driver has been discarded from A97 and replaced with ODBC in A2K onward

When I connect to FoxPro tables it takes about 1 1/2 minutes to view the records in a small table. Is this normal ODBC behavior?

Hi everyone. I am an Access developer having worked with Access-dev. projects for many years on Sql server databases and Access. For the internet I have been using traditional asp. But now I have tried asp.net and this tool seemes great to me. Haven't tried Vb for Visual Studio net, but hope to do that in the very future. Hope that this version of vb goes well together with asp.net although I don't know how.

I have been given the task of converting a program from VFP (visual foxpro) to Visual Basic.net. My question is "Is it possible to generate a DBF file Dynamically(at runtime) using Visual Basic.Net?" With all the field properties, such as, field length and type. I'm not sure if this is a stupid quesiton or If I am just over looking something, but I have not found solid information on the internet about this topic. Any useful...

Hello, I’ve been given the task of importing .dbf files from a very old version of Visual FoxPro (version 2.1) into Access (2003). When I import the data straight to Access it errors with: External table is not in the expected format. (Error 3274) I’ve tried the following but it did not work: “To import data from a FoxPro database, use the Microsoft Visual FoxPro ODBC driver. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
